note: this is as much a commentary on school as a writing project and could be classed under literature or School&Ed. I've choosen to place it here. If nesscary I will move it to LW&P.
Thanks,

The Author

In early 2007 a student anthropologist from the intergalctic university of betelgeuse travled to the Sol system to study the advanced life form in the region, disguised as one of their own he venntured in to a high level science class to study the dynamics between the students, the teacher and the high level material they studied.

These journals are all that remain

Day 1: it's my first day amongst these "Geneticists" is the term given by my anthroplogical studies professor but I have already found that the call themselves "Gene Jocks" prefering this term because of the challenge it throws out to the highly atletic elite class though many in the tribe are a part of this class because of their own athletic skills.
They are mostly highly social individuals though some of the males are more reclusive. The tribe has close to a 3-1 ratio for males to females and has one "wanderer" female who shows only on occasion to the detriment of her status amongst the tribe. The alpha male, called a "teacher" in their society, is larger and older than the other males and is the intellectual superior of the rest of the tribe. In his postion he seeks to bring the rest of the tribe up to his level though many times the pack becomes lost and requires a slower more detailed explanation.

Day 10:
I have decoded more of their language and have begun to understand what they speak of during the lectures from the "teacher" it is a complex and varied subject steeped in mysticism and a very thick level of lore truly understandable by only the wisest of the species and these tribe creatures are truly of that level. In my observations of the rest of their society I have seen for the most part only mass stupidty encouraged by the device known as "TV" and a dubious nutrition source called "fast food". The tribe does partake of it on occasion but they as a group much prefer the blessed creation of one of their gods, the High One also called Caffeine in their common parlance.

Day 15: I have learned more of their social strata and tribal system both within the small tribe and within their large groups. The athletic elite and the social elite (usually classifed by looks and socialbility) are at the top of the pile shortly followed by the median group which tends to think of itself as outsiders and the like. The bottom group is known as "nerds" or "geeks" who are looked down on because of their primarily technological knowledge even though they usually end up as the "elite" classes superiors in the work place which tends to have a whole different style of system usually defined by who's best at either the task or at a terran creation known as "ass-kissing". I for one find the irony in the reveral of the primary social strata highly entertaining when compared to contemporary galactic society where having a child with inate skill or understanding of electronic systems is widly regarded as a blessing from the Gods.

Day 21:
They have become less wary of me and I am slowly learning to actually comprehend the language used by my small tribe. The large tribe used a more easy to understand language that the translator didn't even have to come to half power to put in to High Galactic. The small tribe I'm studying however seems to switch flawlessly from the more gutter language spoken in common communication to a highly scientific language which is hard to comprehend with out studying their scientific materials. The tribe uses this scientific language in the same sentance even as the gutter language which makes the true intent of their communications rather hard to understand.

Day 23:
More on their social orginizations.
They have as a species a strange combination of a caste system(like the athletic elite class and the geeks noted on earlier) and the tribal system that I have been involved in. Within the tribal setting the various castes can communicate with each other and many of the athletic elite speak to the geek class for aid on more difficult subjects. Certain classes are dominated by a specfic caste with a few non-cast members thrown in by the high council which is called "The Administration" which appears to be a mini-version of their national goverment which also tends to be called "The Administration" in their news media
