I hate schools today... I really do. What is up with you guys? Whatever happened to self-expression? I hate the ways schools are run. (and I am not talking about dress code. Honestly, get over yourselves.) Schooling now has become more of a social gathering (which isn't a bad thing, per say) and a plce to show off your lastest vanities.
Kill me for being the one person who believes that education is what school is for. Kids in the inner-city schools can't learn because they don't want to.
YOU CAN'T TEACH KIDS THAT DON'T WANT TO LEARN.
My question is... "Why go? If you're not going to learn, then go home."
You all are worried about headgear. Oh, for crying out loud... get off of the drone.

You can not place the blame completely on the students, you must also remember that our society as a whole seems only to pretend to care about giving our youth a valuable education. I also believe that inside every living thing, there is the will and want to learn, how they apply that is up to them. Also, just because a youth is in an inner city school, does not mean that he or se is unwilling to learn. I'm sure you can find many people, who went to inner city schools and got a great education.

Heh, I'm always glad to provide amusement...unless it involves me tripping. That rather frequent occurence I could live without.

You're telling me. Geez, our public school is horrible. We have twenty-five coaches for 400 students! Which is why all the advanced math and science classes are taught by FOOTBALL COACHES who don't have a friggin clue what an atom is. DAMN THE TEXAS SCHOOL SYSTEM! DAMN IT TO HELL! (Apologies for the caps...)

Jendragon, you made me laugh. Which is really rare to happen whilst reading a message posted via the internet.

Here in Maryland, we're only taught the material that's going to be on the state test, so we miss out most of the essentials. It turns out that schools aren't about education, they're about funding.

Which is why I'm currently homeschooled, and next year am attending a high school that allows me to take classes at a university while receiving a high school diploma. The rest of you, I pity. I'm not being very helpful here. Sorry.

the system is broken.

If i had my way, we'd all be educated to our strengths and interest and on our own pace.
No more freakin bloody algebra for me, mis writer-of-fantasy-and-no-math-sense. OK so my name isn't that but that's what my mind is like lol
