There is a teacher at my school who decided to do a lesson on Hitler, Jewish people, the Haulocast and what not. The students were required to wear the star of David to her class period everyday. If they refused to wear it they would be "terminated". Or forced to stand in front of the class with a dunce cap on their head while not moving for 10 minutes.

I think she took it too far...
What do you think?

She was trying to make a point. What was the reaction of the rest of the class? It's an interesting aproach.

the reaction?
the whole school went around calling each other a jew bag.

I think that she probably made a point for you guys to remember what it felt like it might have for the Jews during the holocaust. It might have been a good idea, it might not have.

It's not you; don't worry. I just wanted to be included ( even though you were trying to include us, which I didn't realize at the time ).

Ah. ( Well, there's a difference between "sexual" deviance and "gender" deviance. It's a fight the gender-variant people have been losing. It's not about sex or sexuality. Frown )

What did that represent?

Being gay...more specifically any kind of sexual deviance.

OK, dumb question. What did that represent?

My current Social teacher said that at a school the used to teach at, during the Civil War lessons, the would re-enact the Battle of Gettysburg. They would have to learn how to march in formation and someone gave the Gettysburg address. And they also hade 5 people who had to sit in the back of the room and weren't allowed to do anything. They were the slaves. It sounded really cool. I was sad we didn't get to do it this year.

It must be lovely to wake up in the morning and understand everything.

The fact that you think it's going too far means your teacher is getting her point across. That's exactly what the anti-Semitism of the Holocaust was all about: irrational and unfair discrimination.

Be happy she didn't put you into a fake concentration camp. My history teacher had a mini stage in the back of the room. He could have done it easily...

You think she took it to far with stars of david? you need to check out "The Wave"
