i just wanted to sdd a few more pros and cons to the list invisible girl has. a couple more pros are that you dont have to get dressed in the morning unless your parents tell you too. and you dont have to deal with the populars. and you can do whatever you want after you finish your school work. a couple more cons is that you have to be in the house with you brothers and sisters every day.

I have reading lists, and books to fill out, and topics to research. Thanks for the answers though. I do not know what one I would choose personally though.

The ones where I live don't - but I have to do whole courses over the summer (this year it was algebra).

Well, some of the pros of homeschooling are that you can learn things at your own pace, on your own time. You are not bound by the structure and schedule of a public school. You have more control over what you learn; you can choose to go in-depth on one topic and skim over another. And on days when you just feel really bad, where you hate life and you don't want to do anything, you can pretty much say, "screw school, I'm not doing any work today," as long as you make up the work at some point. A pro for me is not having to do oral presentations, which I hate. Also, there are no tests or grades, which takes away a lot of the pressure. I don't think that I am any better than you because I am homeschooled - I have spent a few years in public school (plus on in private school) and I don't think that it's all bad. Cons of homeschooling are that you don't get the full classroom experience; the learning as a group. There is a common misconception, however, that homeschoolers are under-socialized, but between the extra-curricular activities I do at school, my homeschool support group, and hanging out with my friends, I think I am pretty well socialized. Other cons are that you spend a lot of time in your house, which can get really old really fast. And if you're in a fight with someone in your family, you don't have school to escape to. Homeschooling works for me, but it doesn't necessarily work for everyone - it depends on what kind of a person you are.

So what is the pros and cons of homeschooling? Would you rather go to public school? Do you think you have missed out on any social experiences? Just curious, the only people I know who are home schooled think they are better then me, since I go to public school.
