With all of the recent talk about new budgets, improving US Public Schools, and our terrible standing vs. other leaders in science and math, this question came to mind.

School should be a fun and a great learning experience as well. I think that because who wants to walk into class and just hear the teachers droon on and on about a certain subject without being ethusiastic and positive about it. There is no way any child including myself would want to be in a class like that and then expect to pass it as well. One way teachers can make school more enjoyable is to have more hands on projects and have us think outside the box and talk about what we think about the subject we are going over. But the main thing that us students really need in our schools are more passionate and thoughful teachers that really care about our education instead of the latter. !!!Peace, Love & Hairgrease!!! I feel that making the furthering schooling i.e college worth something, but it needs to be affordable. this 40,000 a year stuff is ridiculous. its not fair that some can go to school and some can't it needs to be attainable to all that want to go to it.

I enjoyed my five years of high school tremendously and because I loved it so much I didn't have much trouble waking up and getting dressed for school and I actually enjoyed giving my best in my work. When I look at the girls who spent those years with me, those of us who made an effort to enjoy school (because enjoying it doesn't just fall from the sky) did considerably better than those who were always negative about the whole system. so, in an ideal world, school should always be fun for everyone. The thing is, in the real world, it's impossible for everybody to enjoy school. I'm lucky - I like knowledge, I liked my teachers and I love being busy. There were horrible times in my school career though, and at times I just had to make myself find the good in it. Not all people want to find the good in it though. So to a certain extent, whether or not you enjoy school is up to you. But at the same time, teachers should aim to teach in a way that will appeal to the different ways of learning - auditory, visually and tactile. They can put in effort up to a point - like experiments and field trips or lively discussions or whatever. but in the end, whether school is fun is going to be an individual thing too - like meeting halfway.

School should not be fun. It's a job and the only way to do a good job is to have no fun and to work your butt off. If school was fun it would be the end of America, nay the world.

How would they make it "fun" for the kids that hate school and don't want to be there in the first place (because anybody else doesn't really need a fun school)? I mean, sure, more kids would probably be interested in school if they actually enjoyed it rather than sitting still for an hour listening to a lecture on how the altitude from the right angle of a triangle is the geometric mean of the two halves of the hypotenuse of the orignal, but... there's not much you can do to make that fun. They've got to learn it anyways, and most attempts at making it enjoyable end up failing. For example, in fourth grade we were learning fractions and the teacher wanted something that we'd have "fun" with, so he bought a video with a bunch of creepy dancing men singing about fractions. We were forced to dance and sing along with it. That only encouraged most of the class to hate fractions. Sometimes stuff like that works - last week my English teacher decided Tupac would be a good way to learn about The Odyssey and it got a couple of kids interested so I guess it was worth it. But other than that... students will just have to suffer through it.
They gave me the end, but not where to start; Not how to build, but to tear it apart.
