I think I know what clique I want to be in... But is that okay? Should we just hang out with who we naturally get along with? Should we hide behind our $47.95 pants from Hot Topic or our $39.99 sweatshirt from American Eagle? It's really lame how people just think of themselves as a canvas. I mean, if you were a sheet of music, that'd be okay.

Wait, what? I'm confused from the lack of subject relation, bad grammar, and numbers used in place of words...

I can understand exactly where you're coming from! At my school it seems like you HAVE to be part of a certain group (obviously, the so-called "popular" group is preferred) or all is lost! omg the horror!...I don't think I've sounded that sarcastic online in a while lol Personally, I don't pay attention to the cliques at my school. If my personality clicks w/someone elses then I'll chill w/them, it's simple as that and I don't get why anyone needs to make it any harder. I've had at least a dozen people come up to me and ask "so are you punk? cheerleader? drama? semi-whatever?" idk, I've lost track. Truth is, I'm friends w/ppl from all those "groups" and I dont care what that makes the rest of my narrow-minded high school think because when push comes to shove, I have my own little "clique", "group", "posse", what have you...of awesome friends, and that's what matters

more skool cliques . . .
the jocks
the b*tchy ****ty cheerleaders (im not calling ALL cheerleaders this, but there is a group for them!)
the loners
and honestly, i dont think that anyone that calls themselves 'tinkerbell' can be a 'punk'. thats just an oxymoron, like those wanna be 'punks' that wear short skirts, tight shirts, and pink and black. THAT is not a punk!

Here are the types of cliques at my school:
Preps: enough said
Punks: people who listen to rock (duh)
Folks: basically wanna-be 50 Cents
Posers: enough said
Norms: people who don't have a "label"
Not too many, really. I fall in with the punks. But me and my best bud, Kaitlyn are goth, too. We're the only ones in our entire school

I don't like cliques either. But i guess I can't be angry at someone for wanting to befriend some people with similar interests as them, eh?

your totally right. I live in the A.V. that's in L.A. county so ya there arn't really that many groups. I mean ya curtain people hang out with people like them. But their always up for other people. So what is up with all the little groups of people that I hear about in other places. I think you guys should change it around.

in my school the cliques arent that bad because there is always thoes few people who can connect the groups together. my school isn't that big (just became a small 4A) and i live in a small town outside of houston (tx) so maybe thats why we dont have alot of cliques. but i dont really consider my self in ne cliques so maybe im just clueless.

i think cliques are okay but it becomes wrong when a certain group deliberately makes life miserable for a certain person and/or group. cliques are meant to be a group of friends hanging out and having fun but when someone excludes someone else, it stops being fun for the excluded person.

i dont think that cliques are wrong, i think that they are good becuz most of the time you find ppl there that you can relate to the most. but i also believe that having friends in different groups is a cool thing. i guess you could say that just makes you more compatable with ppl.

ah ha the dreaded clique conversation. the only reason they exsist is because it's not only in high school do people put everyone in boxes and decided where they belong. At work, in the "real world", anywhere you go you will find there are the "successful ones", the ones everyone loves, the ones that everyone wants to rip the clothes off of etc etc. it's almost unbearable to a point! Adults look at this whole group thing and condemmn us for doing it while they are doing the same! Look at your own parents for godsake! You have the PTA moms, the well-to-do fathers, the soccer moms, the parents who aren't involved with their children's life and others that well...i feel if i list it would take up just so much room. Why do we do this to begin with? Why do the boxes exist? When we exist inside of these tight containers we can't strech our legs or arms or can't change for the fear of a loss of friends and exceptance. Are we afraid of what we don't understand? Is that why everyone has a label? So we can understand where everyone belongs and we don't have to looks to far into ourselves to find out who we are. Who are we? Oh well i'm the loser of the school so that means i act like this and these are my thoughts... No one wants to admit there are cliques in their school and why they are there. in my opinon they are there for two reasons: fear and exceptance. We all fear what we don't know or don't comprehend. When we are afraid, we beome judgemental and we condemn. How can we learn to tolerate when we have horseblinders on and are so afraid of the new. As for exceptance, everyone wants to excepted, wants a plaec in the group. Everyone thinks if they alter themselves slightly to this one person's wants they will want us and finally we will belong. All in life you will have need to be wanted and to be love. We have to be careful that our wants and fears don't control us. oh and quote: I even wrote an editorial on them for my school newspaper.
yeah so did I, which immediatly put me in the "nerd" section to the "popular" kid's eyes. but do i care? not at all. i like my friends. no matter what they are.

I HATE CLIQUES! I even wrote an editorial on them for my school newspaper. Why must we label our selves? That just makes it harder for us to explore and develop. We stop ourselves early on and then restrict ourselves from people we might learn to love. Fight the peer pressure and be friends with whoever you choose!

my schoold is from 6-8 and we have ove 1,000 kids at our school so it is only natural for us to have cliques. I am in the inbetween people. And I hange out w/ every1 in my group (inbetween) and a few of the preps and most of the sk8ers and some of the uh "ghetto people". But our school is divided into these groups and this is how they go by population of the groups: 1)preps 2)inbetween 3)geeks 4)sk8ers 5)other inbetween 6)freaks I think that is it. And u might notice i have inbetween on there 2 times. That is because we have two goups of them. I am in the larger 1 even though i hang out with every1 in both of the groups. OH yea and our skool is so big that people in the same grade don't even know each other. Or even heard of each other. LOl.
