wow, I didn't know that LOTR was so popular, I thought my friends were the only freaks that liked it so much....heh.

Matrix was ok, the second one was stupid but the last was not bad.

Donnie Darko
Hellsing (for the anime lovers Wink )

Memento

Memento was really really good. Taxi driver was good too. I’ve heard of both Pi and Requiem of a dream, neither of which (from what I heard) were very good.

is that the one with Johnny Depp? I saw a movie in a store once where he was this AI creation that never got finished so he was left with shards of metal instead of hands or something. Looked interesting but suspicious

Winona ryder wasn't meant to be blonde, the ice shavings making it snow was a stretch, and the fact that he doesn't eat... but does... doesn't really work. But the casting, acting, cinematography, soundtrack, and setting all complimented the idea behind the plot(as strange as it was).

I was somewhat angry after watching that movie...mad and sad.

The ending...Lawd. It's so sad, and ironic. It made me so upset.

The Last Samurai is the best movie I have ever seen. It took a cliched genre and managed to miss every cliche and wrap awesome sword play around an intense and thought provoking plot.

Faaloun, I agree wholeheartedly. Great great movie. You may think I'm crazy for liking this movie so much everyone, but it's such a different movie than any of the gigantic thoughtfully devoid blockbusters America has been chugging out for the last 5 years. I'm tired of being letdown by movies that turn out to be so empty and meaningless, just cheap thrills.

p.s., Donnie Darko is one of the best movies I have ever seen. It's so cool. I was somewhat angry after watching that movie...mad and sad.

In no particular order:

Pi
Requiem for a Dream
Dr. Strangelove or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb.
Full Metal Jacket.
A Clockwork Orange
2001: A Space Odessey
Evil Dead II
Army of Darkness
The Boondock Saints
Taxi Driver
Donnie Darko
Hellsing (for the anime lovers Wink )
28 Days Later
Memento

And that's just a taste, lol. Please tell me some of you have seen at least two of these movies.
