yeah Sudha! it is sad! it's also a bit due to our only 13year independence! and definetly not due to our size 20273sq.KM which makes us 7th smallest european country. i think it's better that not many know us tho. i mean mass tourism would destroy everything here! so in one way it's better but when it comes to student exchange i think they should build even more facilities!

It depends. Im headed towards Russia in 2 days. But thats just me.

France, the UK, Germany, and Spain are the most famous for foreign exchange students. Now, one thing you need to have in mind is that some countries are more expensive to go to than others. Also, the language. It's a good idea to learn at least a bit of the language of the country youre going to.

And be prepared. Research whatever country youre headed to. Safety, currency, everything. You can never know too much.

I recommend checking out www.studyabroad.com or www.afs.org (this one offers scholarships that pay EVERYTHING). Also, I chose AFS becasue ithas a greater vairty of countries to go too.

And dont worry about not being sure where to go to. I wanted England, then Montreal, then France, and I finally decided Russia!

Anyways, if you want to talk about it or have a question or something, feel free to NOISEMAIL me.

As a citizen of the United States, I am not fluent in any language other than English thanks to our self-centered school systems. That said, I am in my second year of Spanish and had a tourist level knowledge of Italian, which I am quickly fogetting.

Next year I am going to be an exchange student, and am having trouble deciding where to go, although learning another language (or two or three) is important.

heehee I tried to learn all the languages I could all at once and I wound up remembering only a handful of words from italian, latin, seaux-wiccan I know (but it is a written language), I've taken three years of German so I can speak it pretty well but I don't think I could compare with a native German ;D, I speak gibberish and pig latin very well lol. And I know some Japanese. Language is very interesting tho.

It's supossed to be "Yo hablo Español, Inglés, Francés, y Alemán...." IN Spaish, "mi" is used as "mine"

I was only saying half of it in Spanish. I only took Spanish 1 last year and the teacher never covered 'Yo' or other forms of the words. Sorry.

I don't speak any language. Actually, this is a typing machine putting my thoughts onto the computer. If you actually heard what I said, all you would hear is high pitched buzzing. Thus, people die. Thus, I get blamed. Thus is how WWIII will happen. Good day to you.
