Most boybands are extremely insane, but think about it, where do u think all our love songs come from? They may sound like crap, and I'll give u that, but they make making-out a whole lot easier!!!

I love boy bands. I love al different kinds of music, but boy bands are my fav. They are better off then us 'little people'. So we dont' have room to critisize. Plus at least they are singing. Anyone can talk, while some can sing.

You guys are just jealous because they are talented. Five guys make a harmony and that is not the "lucky number" LFO -three guys, 98* four guys, no authority- 4, etc...

I think that boy bands are totally insane. Their music sounds like crap, there is always the SAME number of guys in a group (whoever said that five was the magic number was way off track), and every single bands is composed of only pretty boys with one talent: being pretty. I mean, what's the point? Take NSync for example. Bunch of pretty boys who think they sing well. In my opinion, singing well is being able to make music that people will want to listen to.
Anyone who disagrees with me, that's your problem. I'm against the boy band revolution.

i agree that every should and does ahve thier own opinion, but aren't these groups of 5, 25 year old males running around singing songs about love and their great career? there is no substance or emotion that goes behind their lyrics. they have someone write the lyircs that they'll think th younger population will like and not what they want to sing about. all they are trying to do is make money off of other people's dreams.

This topic is an important issue to many teens today. Everyone should and does have the right to listen to who ever he/she wants to listen to. If you dont like it than fine but the people who do like them really dont care what your reasons are for not liking them. Despite what you think they are not all the same. They sing about good things in the world. They dont constantly talk about killing people. To me that is a group regardless of how they started. Dont get me wrong i listen to all kinds of music i just dont like it when people talk about something that is important to others.

Yeah the main message I get from Blink 182 is: "I say **** cause it makes me look cool." Plus there instrumental music is easily learned, and there rhymes are just plain stupid. Thus making them gah-bage.

OK...BOYBANDS. to many of you this sounds like a diry little word. but why? just because you dont LIKE them? is it really logical to say a music group has absolutely no talent just because you dont like their style? its just your opinion. true, they're pretty cheesy, their lyrics aren't exactly realistic, and they create this marketing bonanza...but they aren't TALENTLESS! and tell me, what exactly IS the difference between a "boyband" and some of these "punk" bands like Blink-182??? both sing about girls (although Blink's lyrics are just a bit more crude), both are in the category of pop music (believe it or not, Blink-182 is a POP band), both have an extremely large fan base-especially with the girls.....and finally, to get to the bottom of everything--both make a ridiculous amount of money through clever public relations, unrestrained advertising, and shameless product placement. really, when you strip everything down to the basics, there isn't much difference between boybands and other popular groups. if you dont LIKE the boybands, then please, dont waste your time by complaining about them. they are here to entertain, so if you happen to find them boring or annoying then dont pay the least bit of attention to them! instead, you can actually try to enjoy music that you LIKE! cool

who really cares about the boy bands anyway? I think that they were just a fase and will be gone soon(hopefully). Its not like i ever listened to them, but still, i never had anything against 'm. They were made for little kids, and little kids listen to them.

What sucks though is that they start singing about stuff thats way over the kiddys heads, you know what i mean. And when that happens no one cares because they're made to sound innocent.

something i just realised the other day, that seemed kind of funny to me was that all boy bands have the same thing in commen

  • they were formed in orlando florida
  • they have 5 boys in them
  • none of them knew each other before the band formed (wahts up with taht?)
  • they all are 20-25
  • lastly, none of them play insterments

now, i don't know about you, but i like a band with a background, not like these boy bands that meat for the first time in orlando and BOOM they are a band. . . I think that, is the core of the hate that alot of my friends have for the boy bands. Then that, mixed with the guy-must-have-a-girl message is kind of umm... stupid.

(my thoughts)

I really don't think it's that big of a deal. Personally, I don't like the bands such as NSYNC, 98 degrees or Backstreet Boys. Even though their songwriting could be a lot better, they are very good singers. They sing with harmony and (even though the lyrics are not) they are pleasing to listen too. From a musicians point of view, it is nice to hear voices like that. However, I do have a problem with all of the rap and R&B. These are worse than the boy bands in my eyes. The boy bands talk about how they want a girlfriend and how they can't live without a girl. While these rap groups swear throughout everything, talk about sex and drugs non-stop, and just scream obsenities across the screen. Now, as for these punk/rock/metal bands, yeah, their music could be cleaned up a little, but at least they have some musical talent. Blink182 for example, excellent on guitar and drums. Many of these rock bands have excellent musicians, as opposed to Rap and R&B where they sing (or talk as the case may be) to recorded beats.

What really gets me is that a lot of them are treated like a "product"... rumor has it that Justin Timberlake was the pre-assigned "cutie" of the band (it's always the youngest guy with blond-ish hair and a baby face, isn't it??). And some of their lyrics are really NOT for younger kids... lots of sexual innuendo and such.

Anyway, what do you think about the Backstreet Boys and their issues? A.J. was in rehab for awhile, I think, and I heard that Nick Carter got arrested for getting drunk and disturbing the peace at a bar... and when they arrested him, he started crying hysterically! Sad... real good rolemodels. People who do obnoxious things and admit it freely are one thing, but people who act all wholesome and kid-friendly and do the same things sicken me...

From another perspective, how many bands are out there with a lead singer, drummer, guitarist and bassist singing punk rock music that have many fans saying I hate boy bands. That can seem a little controlling too. Why does everyone have to talk badly about music? If you don't like it don't listen to it.

I wouldn't say boy bands are the problem. I would say so called punk rock bands which consist of sexually deprived losers with low self esteem who swear and talk about weed and bash boy bands to sound cool. (ex. Blink 182)
