In the past I use to like Eminem's music a lot when I was very depressed. Now its ok..i like how is real with people and speaks what's on his mind but at the same time, a fine line has to be drawn.
This is your life are you who you wanna be?

I don't like him because a white rapper, because he's hot, or because he uses violent lyrics. I like his music because he says whatever and doesn't care what people think, he uses his right of free speech and i think thats pretty cool.

Eminem is an amazing person first of all becasue he is soo incredible talented... also he sings about real things that go on in this world and I think people are just afraid to face the facts that this world isn't safe and never will be.... he tells it like it is and so many parents are afraid to face it and are afraid to let their kids hear what is really out there in the world but it has to be faced otherwise problems can't be solved..... another thing is that everybody has emotions locked up inside and some are severe like Eminems but that doesn't mean that we should lock them away... I make poems about my emotions or write them down and that's what Em is doing... he's dealing with his life in a way that he's talented at.... why should we silence that??

I personally like some of Eminem songs. As you can tell from my username I am a christian, and that does not stop me from listening to his music. I think his music is just a matter of taste. He does make good points in some of his songs. Somepeople just take a little longer to begin to like sings/rapers. I personally did not like Eminem until I heard his song Cleaning Out My Closet. I could relate to the song. Well I guess that is my input later.

Eminem - isnt bad but I dont think he deserves nearly the recognition he gets (which he gets cause hes white).
Profanity - As many people on these boards know i dont have anything against profanity.... BUT ....when profanity is used in rap it is a way for the rapper to ad an extra syllable without even having to make good rhymes. Whenever they are stuck on a line they just throw **** in there and it works because it is a quick one syllable word that rhymes with so many things. There are so many swear words that one of them is bound to rhyme with whatever the line is and they abuse this flaw in our language. That is the only reason they do it and (in my oppinion) the more a rapper swears the less rhyming talent they truley have. I must add though that sometimes the words are needed for the song.... not often.

I personally like him, I think its good that he is saying things that need to be said. And as for people who complain about what he says, and that hes polluting their children, its not his fault! The parental Advisory sticker isnt there to look pretty, y'know?!

I would like to listen to Eminem but he is so angry and depressed it scares me. You know i've never seen a pic of him smiling. its always this horrible scowl. And I feel sad for him because he feels this way. And i'm mad at him, because he uses so much bad languages and hates everything, basically. So all in all, i respect him, am sorry for him scared of him, and mad at him.
But I do concede that he is exceptionally hott.
Lots of love, Lynne

i like eminem, i dont agree with what he says sometimes but his latest album, the Eminem show, i find interesting. he has softened up i think, his new album details his divorce, background and Hailie Jade. however, i do admit, the Marshall Mathers LP is a bit controversial, with its references to rape and murder. his references sometimes can be disturbing, and violent, but nobody is forced to listen to eminem- it is their own right and own choice. ppl should just understand that it is his way of speaking and its all perecption. now my mother is having a fit at me, so i must go lol. psyche, kat

i personally think that one should realize that there's a line that can be crossed and once that line is crossed all hell breaks loose...
i don't really have a problem with Eminem, i apologize if i spelled the name wrong, but i think it would be a heathly exercise if everyone went postal on him and shouted bad crap at him...if he's going to say things to people like he does, he needs to expect to get it back...
i don't really pay much attention to him so i don't know, whatever i just think he needs to chill out a little bit and realize he's not completely immune to karma...
i have tons of respect for the guy, i'm all about speaking your mind, i just don't think one needs to cross the line with every single point...

I don't know about anyone else, because I haven't read any of the other posts yet, but all I can really say is that I'd be more willing to listen to what Eminem has to say if he didn't use so many slurs and so much profanity. If he has such important things to say why doesn't he just say them?

I think he is a very angry person. Just by listening to what he sings it is obvious. I don't like the words he uses. Some of his songs are interesting and they do have a pretty good beat if you like listening to rap. Something that he has that is really a gift is the ability to speak his mind. He sings what he wants to sing. And he doesn't sugar coat anything regardless of how other people might see him as. Being able to do that is something that I admire in people. I don't usually listen to him... like that one song "I'm sorry Mamma." I don't even know if that's the title or not. But I don't listen to him usually because it makes me feel sad, or depressed or some other feeling that I don't want to have. I can't say a whole lot about him.... I don't really know him.

I totally disagree with Eminem's lyrics, but he has first amendment rights just like we all do. As long as his stuff is given an appropriate rating (I don't mean that he has to make appropriate songs, I mean that his stuff has to be rated correctly) I'm cool with it and that's all I have to say. Oh and what's up with the name? Why isn't there a rapper called Reece's Pieces?

First off, read my post again.
I personally don't care what he says in his lyrics, I was merely pointing out that the media jumped all over him about them (lyrics) at first - it was the media - the same media who is now loving his movie - that didn't like his lyrics.
Now the media is giving you people the impression that "well maybe he isn't so bad afterall."
Sure, the movie might be good, but if the media blasted him on it like they did his albums, then most of you would be following the "I don't like his movie" line.
And don't tell me the media doesn't have an impact on what people like/dislike;
ahh, mass media.
This isn't about me, sorry.
