Well then they are gonna do the things that rap is supposivly making them do, even if they don't listen to rap. Peoples actions can not be pinpointed on a song. That is stupid to think. It's just as excuse.

The problem with censorship is that kids often get a kick out of listening to something which is censored, because it makes them feel 'rebellious.' Its the same with alcohol and drugs

Well censoring from the radio and TV is a good idea but not all the music, like what we buy or anything. Music does have bad points but they are just songs. I don't think that all rappers do as their songs say, some maybe but not all.

I despise rap music and i don't believe that the lyrics in todays charts are artists expressing themselves, its just lyrics that have been written because they have to rap about something and the first thing that comes to their mind is sex and violence. Also, it seels because it is contreversial and sadly alot of people on this earth are shallow minded enough to get a kick out of hear some guy do 20 girls ar some party. Nevertheless, i dont think the music should be banned because i think whether we like it or not kids are gonna listen to it and if they wont, they will move onto something equally stupid. I don't think anything is gained by banning or censoring it.

That's not what I was saying. I was saying that people that don't listen to rap consider the people that do to be bad. My main point is that rap has some bad yes, but it isn't meant for childrens ears tp begin with. No rap is not getting out of hand in my opinion!

"We are suppose to have a freedom of speech, and I understand that alot of things aren't appropriate to hear or to be said but what is the point of having the freedom of speech if we really don't have that freedom?"

There is a reasonable limit to any civil liberty: If you didn't have that, you'd have complete mayhem. I'm about as pro-Second Amendment as they get, but even I consider it resaonable to bar felons from owning guns, as well as reasonable to criminalize the reckless or malicious use of guns. But, apparently, even limitations as basic and as commonsense as that are too much to ask.

Liberals prefer equality - all people should be equally poor, unsafe and badly-educated.

Smile But thanks for the comment letzbloud. Even if it was sarcasticit is was still nice to read Big Grin lol

Alot of rap isn't appropriate for kids but it is a way of expressing feelings. We are suppose to have a freedom of speech, and I understand that alot of things aren't appropriate to hear or to be said but what is the point of having the freedom of speech if we really don't have that freedom? I don't understand that. Im not saying that I agree with rap or that I do the things that most rap talks about. I'm just saying that it's their right to rap/sing about the things that they are passionate about. Music that is truly bad is edited. Parents that truly cared would monitor what they watched/listened to.

To me rap is a way of expressing yourself. Now adays I do have to say that rap has changed slightly in topic. Some people find rap making unhealthy impacts on todays youth. In a way I agree and disagree. There is some rap that tries to get a word out to not only todays grownups and teens but the children! Like "Mosh" by Eminem. Might not appeal to many but to liberal people, like me, it changes some views on Eminem. And "Why" by Jadakiss can also get you thinking about important events. Other rap I do have to admit can set a bad example on many. I just want to open your minds that not all rap is like that.

I guess it just depends on what type of music you like. For instance, people who love rock music have something different on their minds unlike the people who love rap music. I mean, if you're wise enough to know, you can have choices. Music is a way of expressing what your inner personality wants to say. It tells people who you are. It's not that these types of music destroy anybody's reputation, it's just expression. That's just the way art is. But if you don't consider it as an art, join me. If you don't really like it, i guess you have no choice but to stop listening to it. just like what I do. Smile

Lol freedom, your too funny! you crack me up! Big Grin

Anyways, tucan umm all music is like that. Little kids shouldn't be listening to it, thats why I said that parents should monitor what they listen to.

hey toucan here
i totaly agree music is getting way out of control. you may like the new singers like Usher Ashanti ppl like that but if you actually listen to what they are saying in there songs.
I mean there are little kids listing to these songs. whats up with that. you can rarely find a song thats not talking about sex, love or stuff like that! L8er
