Don't worry. He's a white kid pretending to be black, or wanting to be. The black kids must hate him.

Nobody is saying that some rock/pop/country lyrics aren't despicable, but with rap this seems to be the norm rather than the exception. I personally love some rap artists (outkast, roots, LL cool J) that have positive messages, and unfortunately I like some rap music that has negative messages (Dre, x-zhibit, snoop).
I guess the real question is why does all this negative stuff appeal to the kids so much? Why is a 13 year old girl interested in R. Kelly's portrayal of getting his mistress pregnant?

Good point, Ohio. Sorry I diddn't include you in my last post. (I didn't see yours until I posted mine.) But some/most of what kids try to act like is what they see on TV, in the music-whomever seems to be the popular one. But I agree with the parents' involvement. I've said that one before... However, the parents should also inculde consequences for their children's actions. Whether good or bad. Lecturing doesn't always work on a twelve year old.

Because, as a guy, we are not expected-actually, it is sort of against the rules to allow something like that near us. Anything that may be outside of our comfort zone, or one of our "brothers" (I call most groups of men that, derived from "the brotherhood"). But that's pretty funny.

I don't think that the things that kids/teenagers do today has all that much to with media/music artist, etc. I'm sure that they may have some influence on them but I do believe that parents are behind this as well. Where do these kids get these mini skirts, make-up video games, music from? Most likely they get it from there parents or friends behind the parents back. Parents should make sure that there kids know right from wrong and monitor them alot. Even if kids try to do things behind the parents back, if the parents have lectured enough about right and wrong the kids will listen generally.

Celtic, I don't think that the Nsync guy (but he is solo, I believe) was promoting lesbian sex. It was his coming into the realization that "some women like to dance with women " - some women like women. Let's see when, and how he handles it, he realizes some men like men. LOL

Well ****, Ohio. You can buy any CD you want in Texas whether you're 17 or not. It doesn't matter as long as you pay for it. I agree Bush, it's fine if they want to sing about stuff like that, but it certainly doesn't make it right. If you listen to rap, great, good for you. But I blame part of the reason of ****ty girls under 16 and underage sex on Britney Spears. Just as I would blame some violent crimes that Eminem listeners commit on Eminem's impact on their lives.

Just have to throw in my two cents and say that Eminem is not disgusting and people buy his cds because they like his music. He wrote a really sweet song for his daughter and niece that is on his new album. The song is called Mockingbird, I would recomend that anyone who thinks Eminem is just a really bad guy with no morals or decency or whatever else you think listen to that song. Smile

Music today in general, and mostly not the music but the artists.

OK, good point, I think that the attitude could be broadened out to pop and R&B. Your right. They are not any better than rappers.

You just accuse rap. How about that 13 year old singer who dresses like a pure ****, Britney Spears who still is pop but is more of a whóre than nearly any other female singer, and that guy that was in N*Sync who made a video that bascialy promoted lesbian sex?

You guys are right, and it is just another example of how rap music effects impressionable minds, and parent dismiss it as OK.

The song I have heard and watched on MTV talks about how he has gotten his mistress pregnant but he hopes his girlfriend doesn't get mad b/c he is man enough to tell her about it. This from the same dude that likes to defecate on women and young girls... scary.
Alot of the rap songs also glorify not only men that "pimp" and "love em and leave em" or "no love for hoes" but now we have also moved on to men giving vivid descriptions of how cool it is for a girl to be out for the money, cheating on her man with a "thug" because she just likes the meaningless sex and the expensive gifts. I mean honestly if you listen to the lyrics they are very very sad, but you put them over a nice beat and BOOM! it's the hottest thing in the club and on the radio for 2 months. Not only that, many girls are actually dressing like the chicks from the rap videos. Give me some good hip-hop with no lyrics any day.

yeah..I totally agree with you...I mean teenagers like from 12 years old are walking around with too much make up,mini skirts that are like too mini..the media has a really big influence on these things..and the rap scene is getting worse every day...well...i dont mean by spitting on every rapper or hip-hoper(cuz some of them are making music because they like it,and not because of money)...and does not involve nasty lyrics that are offencive towards women(in some cases we know that some chicks like money and sex for plesure and all the stuff that are singing...)...
well my post may sound funny...at least i understand it..he he Smile b-bye Big Grin
