I don't know if there's already a thread for this, if there is, ignore this one and it will die. Anyway I thought we could have a thread where we can post names of movies we found interesting/offensive/good/terrible/whatever and have discussions/debates about them(if others have seen them obviously), also a place to ask questions about stuff you didn't understand, etc. whatever, just a thread to discuss movies(I know we have Meg's thread but that's basically to post names of good movies, not so much discussion).

Nightmare Before Christmas = overrated.
I love animated movies, I watch them like there's no tomorrow and you tell me John Lasseter or G. Keane's creating a movie I go nuts. But I was soooo disappointed by Nightmare. Corpse Bride = sooo much better.
Oh and 300 is terrible. Just special effects. But really good ones. I was shocked it wasn't nominated.

300 was okay. You know what sucked? Vantage Point. I didn't understand a single thing that happened in that movie. *flash* *explosion* *flash* *car chase* *flash* *president's dead* *flash* *president's alive* *flash* *flash* *flash* *end of movie* I can't remember if I posted this in this thread before, but Inside Man and The Invisible are the best movies ever. Firewall was really good too. I also liked I Am Legend, because it had a scene with Will Smith working out without a shirt on. =]

300 was the best movie ever, 'nuf said. I thought Pirates 3 was ok. They could've done better, but it wasn't all that bad. I only saw it because I saw 1&2 and you know, I just had to finish the story. I'm kinda a Star Wars freak... and I never really thought the notebook was anything special. Sweeney Todd was pretty sweet.

I agree. It was just very intense in its feel. Good cast too. who else loves 300?

No-one wants to go see Juno! I've been trying to get people to see that since it came out and nope, no one wants to see it with me.
The Green Mile is great, a fantastic adaptation of a fantastic book. "[Coffey], like the drik, only not spelled the same."

Just saw "Redacted." has anyone seen it? very good. I think it´s one of these movies you just have to see, no matter how depressing it is.

Maya, to that man, money was happiness, because he was shit out of luck, and couldn't support the one person he loved most: his son. If I were in that position, I would equate the same thing. And did you know this is a true story? This really happened. Maybe you should think about that before you criticize the "realness" of a story. And yes, the system sucks, but that's not the direction of the movie. The way the movie was written, was to put you in his shoes, and maybe change the people, before you change the system.

I didn´t hate it because it was sappy. I hated it because I thought it was complete bullshit. Do you remember the scene where Will Smith see´s all these rich people and says something like "They all look so happy" ? The movie equaled money to happiness(pretty disgusting if you ask me). Not only that but it makes it out like if you try your best you can do anything you want(which is not necessarily true, yes you can further yourself but how many cases are there of homeless people who become billionares?), there´s absolutely no criticism of a system that allows there to be so many fucking people living on the street. I don´t know. I thought it was pretty bad.

Hey it was a good movie. I hate sappy movies, and that one kicked ass.

I just saw "The Pursuit of Happiness"- what a terrible movie. It´s basically one of these stupid American dream movies. Has anyone seen it?
