Barbie is PURE EVIL

Many that live deserve death. Some that die deserve life. Can you give it to them, Frodo? Do not be too eager to deal out death in judgment. Even the very wise cannot see all ends.

I am with you 100% of the way, but I try to just be myself, and not think about what other people think about me but, I am soo over weight that it doesn't work.

I agree, I totally hate the mentality that most girls in the US have gotten in to. Everything has to be "perfect" and everybody ends up looking cloned. It drives me crazy.

I agree. I am a aspiring model and the look these days are of different ethnicities. People don't dress up in "Barbie" clothes people dres up in clothes that represent who they are and not everyone is that portrayal of the "Barbie".

-who you are is what you do and say including the way you dress

The Barbie look is terrible!! So many girls iron their hair out, dump a whole bunch of peroxide on their heads, and giggle like they're morons.

Why would you want to attract someone by looking like a clone of barbie and acting stupider than you are? Wouldn't you rather want to be respected for loving yourself as god intended you to look and by showing that you have a bigger vocabulary than *like*, *that's hot!* and *oh, my gawd!*?

I sure wouldn't.

So Em, I am definitely with you!

I hate how girls at school (or well my old school...it was JR High now I'm going to High School) try to straighten their hair so straight that it looks fake, and put on so much make up their face does too. I think the Dove commercial was powerful. It really made me look at my short bouncy hair. I love it now Big Grin I never actually liked barbie dolls in the first place. Whenever I comed their hair, their heads would fall off. Roll Eyes

I didn't get that memo. Did you see that in the "feel warm and fuzzy about yourself and blur reality" magazine? But seriously, where did you get that?

Yes. It is. A huge one.

Sorry--it may seem like I'm targetting just you--but i just don't agree with what you're saying.

You know, I never thought much about it, because this millenium has been all about celebrating your own beauty, not forcing the Barbie Look on anyone. But then, Lindsay Lohan changed her look and now she sucks and her voice was never great and she looks waaaaaaay too skinny and her new clothes look like sacks on her because she's so little. She lost all of that BEAUTIFUl red hair and her cute size. Now she's just a Barbie doll. I hate it!!! So yah, I think the whole Barbie Doll Look is so sucky, but I don't think it's too much of a prob in this century, because of teens like us who say no to it, because we know that we really are beautiful just the way we are.

I still play with Barbies too...and I must say that my favorite one that I have is actually Skipper. I love red hair...I wish I was allowed to dye my hair...
Hmmmmm...at my Grandma's house, she has like, original Barbies, and sure, they're skinny, that's not changing a bit, but they're totally flat.
I say that they should work on a thing so that you can move Barbie's feet, so that she can wear COMFORTABLE shoes.

No, EM10190 you're definitely not alone on that one! Well, some people naturally look like Barbie and they're naturally really skinny and pretty...this doesn't make them evil...but it might make me hate them! ;-) lol jk...However, I don't think the media gets any say in what I think of myself. They can talk and exploit all they want to, but being confident with ourselves is OUR decision! Forget you, media!
:-)
