is anyone offended by will&grace?

I wasn't trying to say that it was a bad thing. Thats what makes the show funny.

I know that Kate, that's how I'm able to enjoy it.

Well, look at the rest of the show. Karen is the rich girl, and every guest thay have on the show is some stereotype. Thats what the show is based off.

In fact, Jack every now and then does offend me. But most of the show is pure comedy, plain and simple. I actually always saw it as making fun of the stereotypes, not the people in those categories.

If people are going to be offended by it then EVERYONE should be offended by it. They don't just stereotype the gay characters. Every character on that show is a stereotype. Yes, even the straight ones.

I believe Will & Grace actually HAD to use stereotypes in order to be on the air - the old show Dynasty portrayed a man who "happened to be" gay rather than the stereotypical gay man but it didn't do anything for social progress; in fact, I believe the show plummeted. W&G was the first daytime show to address the issue of homosexuality in a positive light AND be able to attract an audience. Hopefully in the future this practice will change, but at the present time playing off stereotypes has actually proven to be more rewarding to the GLBT community.

Will & Grace does play to stereotypes, but when does the media do anything else...

It is offensive and it should offend homosexuals for making them out to be goof balls who take nothing seriously, only care about sex, who work at the Banna Republic, and only caring about looking good.

People look back on the way blacks were portrayed on television thirty years ago and are disgusted - i think homosexuals will do the same thing one time.
