there was a time when A and F was a rputable company. the truth about af is that their shirts cost less than 2 to make and all and then they mark it up to 25 times the cost of production and then sell it to kids who are willing to pay that much of their parents hard earned money just to look popular. i have to admit i like abercrombies clothes but i dont like their graphic tees (t-shirts with prints on them) i only have 3 things from abercrombie only because i had a gift certificate.

it encourages immorality "wanna quickie" "eager beaver" most of these 12 year olds dont even know what a quickie or a beaver represents. their miniskirts are 2 inces long. in some respects i find their clothes to be "indecent" i guess they are kindof racist, look at how they advertise! but hopefully once everyones parents wallets are sucked dry we wont have to worry about 12 year olds wearing indecent clothes

in my opinion as a african-american,they are rascist and disrespectful to minorities so what if they are great clothes but in my opinion they
will not change their act, unless we all tell the
president or CEO to shut up and say yall are straight idiots and say: " you are a rascist company so clean up your act we will not buy your clothes ever again".

Ok almost all of their shirts have abercrombie on them. Walking bilboard? no thank you! Thats great if you choose to buy their clothes but just remember to look at the tag and see where in the world its made. Not in the U.S. can almost certainly mean "CHILD LABOR" And if its just like Levi's then freaking wear Levi's. Another thing, their so called models dont model clothing! They model their bodies! They might as well work for playboy. Oh and how do you explain making thongs for little girls?! Im not talking 13 or 14 Im talking 8 or 9! That whole company is wrong in so many ways.

Most of my clothes are from A&F, i wear them because they dont have the name all over them. They are good quality. And have been around since 1892, they were the largest sporting good store in the country.

and A&F is actually the same price as most "skater" clothes.

"By 1917, Abercrombie & Fitch moved to Madison Avenue and 45th Street, where it occupied an entire twelve story building. Outside a sign proclaimed "Where the Blazed Trail Crosses the Boulevard." Abercrombie & Fitch had become the largest sporting goods store in the world, as well as the most impressive. A log cabin was built on the roof, which Fitch used as a townhouse. Next to it he had a casting pool installed, where serious fishermen could sample the store's impressive collection of rods and flies. In the basement, an armored rifle range was set up. There was also a golf school, a floor dedicated solely to completely set-up camps, and a dog and cat kennel. In addition to the more standard types of outdoor goods, A&F had a selection of exotic sporting equipment that would make the imagination reel: hot air balloons, yachting pennants, portable trampolines, treadmills for exercising dogs, throwing knives, shirts of chainmail, leopard collars, and everything a person could possibly need for falconry.

Abercrombie & Fitch outfitted many great hunting and exploration expeditions, like Theodore Roosevelt's trips to Africa and the Amazon and Robert Peary's expedition to the North Pole. Ernest Hemingway bought his guns there. Presidents Hoover and Einsenhower relied on A&F for the best fishing equipment. Other famous clients included Amelia Earhart, Presidents Taft, Harding and Kennedy, the Duke of Windsor, Bing Crosby, Howard Hughes, Katharine Hepburn, Greta Garbo and Clark Gable. And there was more: Cole Porter ordered his evening clothes from Abercrombie & Fitch. During Prohibition, A&F was the place to buy hip flasks."

personally i think abercrombie sucks cause they are waaaay overpriced and the guys r just gay. lol not really but anyway...about 80% of my grade loooves abercrombie and fitch but i think they are rascist and they have bad prices. sure the vintage-style is nice but u could get real vintage 4 a cheaper price elswhere and with no offensive publicity. Sure, the rude stuff they say is just on a shirt, but a shirt is seen by tons of people and are like an advertisement!
thats why some people that i know do not like wearing shirts that just say "gap" or the like because they feel that they "are like walking advertisements". i think they are kinda right, and that if they have rascist comments on their front that they bought for $40.00 or something, thats it is just wrong. and abercrombie even discriminates their models, or at least they used to. anyway i dont like bigname companies or whatever its called cuase its a ripoff most of the time and use child labor and begins a 'competition' between teens/kids for styles and clothes.

One of my friends saw a shirt from there that said "two wongs don't make a white" which IS racist and just stupid. Amercrombie and Fitch isn't quite my style (although I got some summer clothes from regular ABercrombie which isn't as bad)but I wouldn't want to shop somewhere like that,

I know this post is a little late, but I'm still sore over this subject. Here's the deal with Buddha. It is disrespectful to put the name of a god on a T-shirt especially in such a flippant manner. If Abercrombie put out a t-shirt that said "Jesus bash, get your Jesus on the dance floor" you can be sure that there would be some hell raised around. I know that Urban Outfitters has released t-shirts that say "Jesus is my homeboy on it", well I think that's disrespectful too.

As for the pictures of the coolies doing laundry, that's just TASTELESS. If any of you knew anything about the history of your own country, you would know that the Chinese were forced into taking low-paying, harsh, exploitive occupations like laundry because we were discriminated against. There was an exclusion act passed against us in the mid-19th century. Basically, putting a picture of slant-eyed coolies pulling a rickshaw is like putting pictures of African slaves on a t-shirt with a half-assed attempt at a humorous slogan underneath it and selling it for extortionate amounts of money.

Of course Abercrombie would release t-shirt that are racist! They don't have anybody in their company who would be able to identify with the Asian-American population! They are being sued for racial discrimination! Have you looked at their advertisements? The most colour on there is maybe one, lone black girl. No Asians, no Hispanics, just miles and miles of pure blond, blue-eyed Anglo-Saxon flesh.

So maybe you guys should use that brain that appears to have been wasted on you, and stop thinking about your clothing and your preppiness for long enough to realize that there is a big world outside fashion and high-school hierarchies. Grow up. You're embarrassing yourselves. Racism is still a huge issue. Just because Asian-Americans seldom complain, doesn't mean that we don't suffer discrimination.

is that really being rascist? I meen all of Abercrombies clothes has all kind of crap written all over it, and just because a shirt says Buddah Bash it's rascist?? I dont relly know much about your religion so maybe Buddah is really important to you. If it is well then you should probably just choose not to wear the clothes. This isnt the frst time clothingline has been rascist. For example, remember Tommy Hilfiger only wanted American Christians to waer his clothing? and I'm sure their are plenty more.

Depends on your take, I suppose. Being Asian myself, I could see how some people could interpret it as racist...but it doesn't bother me. I don't think the designers of the clothing intended to be offensive. In my opinion, it's only a t-shirt.
