It is sad that women in general are under pressure to fit society by having a fit body and
a pretty appereance. I do think beauty is part of a package in which sensitivity, intellince, personality and moral values do not seem as apreciated as it is the physical aspect. When a male has gray hair it is said he looks interesting and handsome but women with gray hair are labeled as wicked or sloppy. When a woman has a baby now these days there is so much pressure on her body shape that it causes depression in many women after labor. It is sad that society it is still promoting by the media and the industries a message that would place women in a position of competing based mostly on appearance. More a more young women develop eating disorders and self destructive attitudes. Although new generations are more outgoing their self esteem gets smashed by having to deal with sexist attitudes in their own homes as something integrated in a whole society as a norm. We all need to grow and learn not to promote magazines, car dealers and promotional media in general when they use women as sexual objects. Or we will become pasive participants of these inmoral and unfair practices. As society we need to reinforce our value system and morals to better fight social problems and to strenth the family system. It is important to begin at home and with family members creating awareness of these inappropriate and abusive behaviors over women that eventually will reflect in children's self esteem. It is not a positive thing for a family when males feel proud of being chauvinist as it only will show their lack of advancement into civilization and self control. Morals will lead us to wisdon and intelligence. Although today some young males seem more involved with their families and children they also have the responsibility to learn regect the male pressure into sexist attitudes that will soon escalate into abusive patterns agaisnt the family system. Children within those homes will soon pick up the dinamics and contradictions of a father that tells him how much love his mom but yet he flirts and in unable to maintain morals and respect in a family life and with his companion. AS well women could also turn into infidelity as a form of revenge and even due to low self esteen and the circle continues deteriorating, and the children continue developing violent patterns and rebelion in face of such contradictions. The value of love gets corrupted and confusing in the minds of children that can not understand their mix feelings caused by such confusing family routine. I am very impress by some of the comments of young people in this web site as it is my first time sharing with you here. I do think this is a positive way to learn and share all what we have learned through experience for the sake of humanity itself. In my opinion when we learn to look at the global picture is when we realize how important is to make changes within in order to help others achieve those changes in their lives. Although I am an older person I do like to share with the youth and lsiten to their point of view as some of the young people these days could be as wiser and many older people. I am happy to see that this site seems to promote social change and justice. Life will be empty if we did not have a purpose to fight for. I do respect all your views and feel happy to see so many intelligent young people trying to make a difference in life. God Bless you all!
