Alright, just over one month to go before the next-gen battle begins. Post and tell us what you're waitng for.

As for me, I know exactly what I've got my eyes on.

The Nintendo Wii.

And if my MP3 player breaks anytime soon, I'll consider getting the PSP, but only for The Lords of Dogtown film and the Yu-Gi-Oh GX game. The peripherals are far to expensive for me.

I will buy a Wii because its something new with good games and is affordable. The nun-chuck controller and the motion sensing put together w/ a new legend of zelda game will kick Sony's ass. PS3 is just a carbon copy of the PS2 w/ better graphics and less good games. Sony is dying anyway after they f--ked up "Star Wars Galaxies" and "The Matrix Online" they are done in the online gaming world and in 1 week will lose the console war! Down w/ Sony! Down w/ Sony!

The original draft of The Lord of the Rings featured Chuck Norris instead of Frodo Baggins. It was only 5 pages long, as Chuck roundhouse-kicked Sauron's ass halfway through the first chapter.

I'm waiting for Resistance: Fall of Man, mostly because it sounds like Halo with auto-targeting needler bombs (Kidding. But it does almost have those.)

Actually, it's because this game takes the weapons variety from Insomniac's previous games and puts it into a next-gen console with new premise. They've been good with storylines thus far, and great with gameplay, so I'm waiting to see what they do with it.

I'll admit, the graphics are okay on the gamecube. But why buy a new system with the basically the same graphics? The controller is a novel idea but I doubt it will make gamin that much more enjoyable. Besides, nintendo has come out to say they want to target people who don't play video games. translation - stupid games.

I'm excited to play the PS3 on my HDtv because it will be better than the PS2. I guess it is too expensive but don't buy the system right away - prices always drop in a year. As for no good games on the PS3, are you kidding me? Look at all the games on the PS2. How does that give you the slightest notion that the PS3 will have no good games?

The problem with nintendo is that is not very good at original games anymore. It is focused on making wacky spin offs. Why didn't the cube come out with Mario Kart every year? I would have bought it? Why did they only come out with one Mario game? Why did the only Donkey Kong have to be played with drums? I anticipate that Wii will feature the same lackluster selection of original titles in favor of the classic hits.

I should have guessed...

Yeah, upgrades are expensive, and a good computer system is at least twice as expensive (if not more) than the average console, but the added bonus is that you can do so much more with a computer than you can with a console. And if it's a laptop, you can take it and frag people anywhere. As far as I know, the only console that was able to do that was the PS One, and that didn't last too long...

actually you can now with the virtual console system nintendo is setting up

I like messing with PCs as well clpo but upgrades (good ones) are really expensive...however I must admit that I love my PC and the games I play on it

The PS3 is just a PS2 in a bigger package. Well, that and some more hardware. But that thing is freaking huge. Give me an XPS laptop any day.

The only thing I like about consoles is the fact that the games are guaranteed to work. You just stick it in and off you go. But I like modding and upgrading computers. On the same computer, you can play both Doom and Doom 3. Both ends of the gaming graphics spectrum on one machine. I'd like to see someone try to play the original Super Mario Bros. on the Wii.

Xbox 360 kicks f--kin ass!
The Wii will be awesome!
PS3 will SUCK for several reasons:
1.TOO EXPENSIVE
2. No good games!
3. NO PREVIEWS!!!

truth the graphics will still be Cube level, but cube graphics are still pretty damn good (don't belive me go play some old school 64 bit systems) and I'd rather not pay $600 for a system and $75 for a game if it's primarily a rehash of the PS2 with graphics that are beyond human reasoning. Sides the thought of FPS games and any game involving a sword with that motion control is just plain awesome sounding (I'm already salvating for a star wars game where you can use a lightsaber)

Also when you really think about it the majority of gamers run a 2 system set up and the Wii is well set up to get in alot of homes as the second system (though plenty of nintenheads out there will take it as a primary)

It sounds like we can all agree that the 360 would not be a good purchase.

Time will tell about the Wii and the PS3. I think the playstation has proven its track record with its last two systems and will conitinue to do so in the future. I do understand that the Wii will be much cheaper than the rest of the systems but I will have to wait and see what games come out for it keeping in minds that its graphics will be about the same.

So, let's see. We have an oversized vibrator with a rumble pack (Wii), a most likely overpriced ripoff of the PS2 from a company who institutes more copy protection then Fort Knox does to it's stuff (PS3), and then a poorly manufactured computer that has a big X slapped on it, and overheats alot (Xbox 360). Hmm. No thanks.

Now, if they sold it as expansion slots for a PC, then I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

On the subjects of the Wii's games, I read one of the bigger industry magazines, Gamin Informer and they polled a survey of game publishing/development houses (Rockstar, Ubisoft, Squar Enix, EA, etc) and the vast majority said they wanted to produce a Wii game or already had one under production so I don't think there are going to be less games for the Wii this time around

Here is my take on the systems.

XBOX 360 - I believe that both the Wii and the PS3 will have superior graphics. I think the 360 was a bad choice for the people who bought with a very small selection of games.

PS3 - Will be the best system for the next generation. The graphics will be better and Sony will, as always, have the absolute largest selection of games.

Wii - While their control seems pretty awesome if you go on Nintendo's site it is clear that their game selection will be comprable to the same games of the Cube. I owned the cube till I bought a PS2 and believe me, there weren't that many good games for the cube. Also, the Wii's graphics won't be much better than the cube.

I would get the Wii if I was 9 years old. The controller feature is neat but bottom line is that Nintendo has a small selection of games and most are for children.

The Xbox is pretty nice but the controller is stupid and the game selection is small.

I am getting the PS3. They have the best controller in gaming and an unbeleivably huge selection of games. Sony impresses me a lot.

The Wii is not the only one innovating, Sony is using Blue Ray technology which is a huge innovation risk to take.

Oh I am so with you on that the Wii will rock you!

just as a note the Wii is the only true next-gen consoule, it's the only one chaging/inovating/doing anything new the other systems are just graphics card upgrades
