Now all of a sudden 12 and 13 year olds around here go around hating bush and making bush jokes. They don't even know his policies or anything he ha done they just hate him because its cool. Who is to Blame for this? I blame Eminem and bands such as antiflag and NOFX

Note: I dont't support bush this was just somthing on my mind at the moment

I was gonna say something meaniful, I was gonna say something wise, I would have said something that meant something to me, but I lost my train of thought

Its 'cool'. You hit the nail on the head. Eminem, Antiflag, NOFX, all the bands/artists that got involved in this election really got kids to say "Yea, I love politics. Bush is such a d*ck."(None of which is the bands' fault. They spoke their minds, as they should, and less popular bands with differing viewpoints did the same) Almost none of them(the kids) acatually know whats going on in the world. However, alot of punk bands (which, sadly, people are trying to make punk mainstream again. My poor poor social genre is being destroyed by corporate a-holes and teeny boppers. Eh, back on topic.....) also did a Rock compilation FOR Bush, so the pendulum swings both ways, but the majority is against Bush. Its just so they can say "Yea, Im democrat. My life is sh** now thanks to Bush" Then they go home, stuff their faces with cake and play xbox online. Whatever. I read somewhere down the line that "Bush is a liar who cheated in the election before last", or something to that extent. Ok, I will dismiss the "Bush is a liar" because I do not want to debate right now, I will suffice to say, he is but a human, and a politician at that. But he didnt cheat. He won FAIRLY! He didnt win the popular vote, but he DID win the electorial votes. This is in our constitution and that is how we do it. Also, if you are going to say "they stopped counting in FL", Bush had nothing to do with that. The election officials went to the supreme court, got the ELECTORIAL VOTES (the ones that matter) and he won there. Also, the FL votes have been counted 5 times and he WON Florida. Not to mention it was SIX FREAKIN years ago. GET OVER IT! Dems lost to Bush twice, so he cant be THAT bad... Eh, okay. Go back to whining now.... (No Im not republican by the way.)

You must be in favor of Bush, Johnny. All politicians get this. It seems that the candidate you are in favor of seems to get bashed more. It's more sided. The fact of the matter is, they're all bashed. He's our president. Along with all of the other presidents in our line he will get bashed and pushed and pried at. That's part of the package of being president.

ask the 8 year old what he messed up, and tell me how your friends 5 year olds parents feel about their son cussing. by the way that five year old has absolutly no idea what he is talking about

my friend's parents don't know.

Bush has messed up our counrty. He's trying to make it seem okay to be closed minded.

quote:
Thats not even good reasoning, you just said you know kids who are politically educated....when a 8 yr. olds reasing is "He's a lying butt head who can't do anything but mess stuff up."- Good reasons? That 8 year old prob. has little or no knowledge to what is going on in our country let alone world today...to say that your proving your point with that statement almost makes you look uninformed yourself.

Yet again, these are LITTLE kids. The 11 and 12 year olds I know who know about politics and what's going on have much more intelligent things to say about why they don't like him.

And one of the reasons they've hated him is because he cheated in the first election. And that just made them lose all respect for him and America. Which is why almost no one says the Pledge of Allegiance in any of the schools in my district

To answer Marine's little statement that I know will come up:

He's saying it's okay to be closed minded by banning gay marriage. That's closed mindedness

I think people hate Bush, not because it's "popular." But because he tends to be a pathological liar, who can't seem to talk without stumbling on a sentence with with more than three words, and who started and unjustified war. But, hey, that's just my opinion.

I think that this year a lot of kids have become more politically interested. Who wouldn't with all the tension surrounding the last election?

I've always listened to bands that were on the rock for change tour, it just so happens that they share the same viewpoints as me.

I dont think they were saying that bands are horrible influences...but there are many aspects of our society that influence young teens opinions. I'll give you an example.

I'm obsessed with Dave Mathews Band...have been for years, saw them about 8+ times in concert now...
Last year in the middle of there tour they did "rock for change" so a couple of there dates were anti-bush, pro-kerry almost campaigning for Kerry...all the proceeds went to the Kerry campaign ect. The problem was yes if you were a Repub. or didnt want to support Kerry you could just not go right? Well the problem was that these couple dates were right in the middle of his tour meaning that if you lived in PA the only dates that Dave was comming was for the "rock for change" events. So if you were a die-hard Dave fan, and you didn't want to wait another ENTIRE year for there tour to stop in your city then you were forced to go.

I think thats very influencial...you go to see the show and see your favorite artists when then half the time its pro-kerry and hey if Dave Mathews supports Kerry and doesn't like Bush, then why do I support Bush? That didn't effect me, but I'm also a very opinion stable person, I am not influenced by that. But there are sooooo many teens who just aren't sure about what they believe in or what candidate they support, that just small things like that could really put people in the "middle" to support one or the other.

Just an example...I'm not saying bands shouldn't do stuff like that, cause thats the beauty of music to say what you want, and such, but i am saying that you cannot deny that, that doesnt influence teens or even some adults maybe...why do you think both sides recruits Celebreties to speek at campaigns and such, its powerful, its the way our society works. I think that's all they were trying to say freedomordeath.

all of them? Right... like what, two of them? Geez... Bands are allowed to do that though, whether you approve or not. And do you really believe there would ever be an 11 year old that got up in front of a high school or college and told them to vote against bush? Or even a thirteen year old? No, so why would you be so concerned? Make your own band and shut the hell up.

What the **** does liking a musical group have to do with politics?

Bush is hated not because of music, but because the man is a lying dumbãss, and that does not take a rocket scientist to figure out.

thats not the reason i don't like him i don't like him b/c all of the proof of all the s*** he's done.Eminem didn't do anything but speak his mind I bet if Lindsey Lohan was to say I hate Bush than it would be fine.
