This years performance by Paul McCartney was the best halftime performance I have ever seen. Paul McCartney doesn't need a "wardrobe malfunction" to captivate an audience. All he needs is his monumental talent and his genius music. When 70,000 fans were " Na Na Na, Na"ing to Hey Jude, I got a shiver down my spine.
The only part of the night that matched up to(and surpassed) that was the moving national anthem. When the joint choirs of the United States armed service Academies performed our nations anthem, it brought tears to my eyes. I could picture Francis Scott Key standing captive on the deck of that English warship, watching the battle tattered American flag being lowered down the mast that toweres over Fort McHenry, not knowing whether the British had captured the fort and ended our young American dream; Then seeing a brand new, larger and more brilliant Stars and Stripes being raised in its place, giving him the knowledge that our dream would continue; I can't help but cry every time I hear it.

Actually, last year show sucked too. The only reason it was popular was because of the Justin Timberlake and Janet Jackson "wardrobe malfunction." The performances were weak and they sang old songs.

What an amazing show of logic and deduction. I'd have never thought he wouldn't appeal to all audiences. What do you suggest a good show is? Last year's? That didn't appeal to me. I prefer Paul McCartney over rap any day. The fact is, people like things, and people don't like things. You can't please everyone.

I liked Sir Paul. I also agree that his performance was not "safe" as others are claiming. Unfortunately I missed the national anthem but I am sure it was touching.

He was possibly joking. I'm sure he believes some liberals are patriotic. More accuratly, he probably just believes that just under 1% of liberals are patriotic. So I'm sure he meant to say- It was written in a time when all people were patriots not just 100% of conservatives and .942% of liberals.

Now that I've gotten that mostly out of my system (it'll be back once BS says something else), I thoroughly enjoyed the half-time show. Combined with the excellent commercials, it made this year's Super Bowl an enjoyable experience.

I respect the way paul mccartney approaches his vegetarianism. I don't have a prob with other people being vegies. I just don't want them telling me what I should or shouldnt eat.
