Does anyone get depressed that our generation, or anyone living right now, doesn't seem to care about anything?
I just watched across the universe, and i got to thinking about how much they cared about world events, and how they really made a difference for what is right: freedom, love, peace!
What has happened? Why doesnt our generation care? I do! Where is everyone else?!

My old US History teacher says that we are the lazy generation, because after Pearl Harbor tons and tons of young men eagerly joined the military to get revenge for the lives lost. 9/11 happened and there was an increase in recruits, but nothing nearly as high as Pearl Harbor. I don't know why, but many young Americans today really don't seem to care.

I do think a lot of people care about issues and do act for the causes they believe in. But at the same time, I think I get what you mean. Thier aren't the war protests on the same scale as they were for Vietnam. Billie Joe Armstrong said something like that if thier was still a draft, people would be more involved like they were for Vietnm. That's probably true. It's easier to distance yourself from something if you know it won't ever effect you.

You might want to be careful making such a sweeping declaration that "our generation" doesn't care on a website full of people who are here because they DO, in fact, "care."
