What up? My name's Trey. I'm just doing my thing and interning at umvd. One of my co-workers gave me a sampler of HUSH, this MC from Detroit. His stuff is tight. Anyone heard of him? Lookin forward to hearin more from him when his album is out Aug. 23. You can hear his single "Hush Is Coming" on his site http://www.mchush.com/

Lemme know what y'all think.

Rap is not generally too creative. It used to be but the limit of inovation within the form is low(no lower than other modern forms of pop music). The artists are too wrapped up in region and what/whom they associate with to be breaking any creative envelopes. When someone like Andre Benjamin starts to do brilliant and original things he becomes critisized by much of the rap community. From someone who listens to Aaron Copland and Samual Barber for fun, Andre 3000 is a brilliant and creative musician. Not rapper or "artist". Musician. Eminem is a poser.

To be fair, I downloaded "Hush Is Coming" w/Nate Dogg, and a few others, and he's good. But he's gonna get a lot of flack for sounding JUST like Eminem, but a slightly different style.

::Shrugs.:: All them white boys sound the same. Good luck to him.

Let me clarify.

Gansta rap sucks.

I don't mind the Beastie Boys.

Not all rap. Just modern rap.
