Question:
Okay, I'm going to be really brief about this because the full story is waaayy too long.

There was a man named Daniel Pearl who was kidnapped and murdered in Pakistan roughly four years ago now. I loved Danny and he has had the biggest impact on my life over everyone and everything else. I owe him so much.

Well I was getting ready for my final driving lesson (YES!) this morning and checked out the news and found this:

You can imagine THAT blew me out of the water. lol

I still can't figure out how I feel about this. I mean, I think people should KNOW and I'm really happy that people as influential as Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolee care, and it's definitely not "too soon." but I think I'm worried about what Hollywood can do to the greatest os stories.

Also, as much as I like Jolee I really don't think they've taken the time to look for the right person for Marianne (Brad producing it of course Angelina's gonna be his top pick). But that's me.

Well let those hopes soar. I just found out they're filming on location-that's unduplicatable genuinity right there for you. Shows that they're serious.

At least Brad Pitt isn't directing it. Looking at the other works of Michael Winterbottom, I can see why he wanted to direct this one as well. His other movies aren't too wide-known, but in my opinion, still rather good. I have hopes for this one.

Well I don't think Brad Pitt would be stupid enough to mess with it too much-not to metion if they do anything I'll hire an assassin jk-but the fact he cares enough to make a film is a sign of deep respect in itself.

I suppose. Maybe Brad Pitt shouldn't be doing this, though. He'll make it too Hollywood. Gasoline explosions galore. And Angelina Jolie's butt. They'll fit that in somewhere, I bet.

But that's cool. He looks like he was a great guy.

*laughs, spewing soda across desk* Not enough going on? lol Trust me, there was so much to Danny that no film will EVER do him justice, but if you've read the book "A Mighty Heart" and have lived with the ongoing story for the long haul you know there will be substance, it's like "United 93"-save a bit more hopeful.

*Huggles* I'm not surprised you don't know much about him. No one who knows me would know about Danny if they didn't know me. I just keep spreading the word. Do check out the site though-he was brilliant.

Why make a movie about this? There's not really much going on that would really attract viewers. A documentary-type thing perhaps, but not a movie. Maybe I just don't know enough about this guy...

I'm really curious, actually, about who's going to play Danny. That's one heck of a role...
