and as for less than jake i kno there ska

Their new stuff technically isn't, it lacks the fundamental part of ska: the ska guitar. Pezcore was good, and very ska, but somewhere after Hello Rockview all of the ska guitar went away and never returned...and then I found them very boring.

post script: about six years ago their bass player gave me a piece of pizza..what a nice guy...

Mainstream? What does that mean? Nothing. There is no ****ing meaning behind it! It's one of those words used by stupid ****ing punkasses who hate something because it's popular. Know what I have to say to you, the masses of people thinking you are being rebels, when you are really conforming? **** you. You heard me. **** you, but thank you if you listened.

blink 182

See this is the thing I never got about the supposed younger "punk" group. Just because Blink 182 is lighter music or mainstream does not make them any less punk rock. Blink 182 has always done there thing, they have never changed there style, they have always been that way. Now a lot of these new supposed "punk" bands are different because they are specifically designed to copy blink 182, which in effect makes them anti-punk.
Punk rock is not about a sound or a style it is about doing your own thing, whether it is conforming or not. Hopefully these dumb kids who watch mtv will get the picture that just becuase you listen to a punk band and claim you don't "conform" does not make you punk.
Also on a side not less then jake is not a punk band they are SKA, and no stupid kiddies SKA is not punk.

foxykitten: if you think NOFX is funny, you should definately see them live. I went to one of their shows once; they had this crazy dancing guy on stage, and they sang "Idiot Son of an *******" (about George W). They had great stage presence and they were ****ing hilarious!

If good charlotte died in a fiery plane crash I wouldn't care...it would be nice just to not have to hear about them. Anyway, my favorite punk band of all time, well, they're a bit ska too: Operation Ivy. They have great lyrics, the best music, and a meaningful message. What more could you ask for?
