all im giong to say is that if you want a serious answer, then ask a serious question. and not 'everyone' hates white people that rap. alot of those people probably just hate rap.
'i love you' is eight letters long, but so is 'bullshit'.

I can't believe how this thread started so senselessly and people made sense of it. The whole Black Rap scene is, at least in my opinion, a step backward for the black community. But thats just me.

Not all white people grew up in the suburbs and there are some white people who grew up around gangs, drugs and crooked cops. Yeah, so there are some white people are "fake" and just do it because they think it's cool. Well, I know black and hispanic people do just because they think it's cool. Rap now-days isn't about drive bys and gangs. It's all about money, cars, and clothes. It really depends on who you hang around, where you were raised, and what you grew up around. I know some white people that just like rap. They aren't trying to be "black" they just like rap. There are some black people who don't like rap, they aren't anyless black than a person who does like rap. I don't know why people make music about race...it's about culture. FML: It is amazing out of that whole post you choose that one line to talk about. That shows how cocky, arrogent and close-minded you are. Yeah, I didn't say it properly. Wow, so what? Big deal? How am i suppose to say it. "White guys listen to a type of rape called screw. They listen to it louder than black guys sometimes." I know you don't speak slang becasue you are obviously a very close-minded sheltered child. I still don't know where you're getting your racist comments from. Like I said before, don't throw around comments unless you got something to back it up.

I disagree with you a bit EgyptianQueen69. I feel that rap is a bit of a cultural thing. Some of the first rap that came out was most definitely about the plight of the black man and gave us a view into what it was like to grow up in the hood and get shot at and harrassed by cops etc. Shortly after this "Gangster rap" evolved and because of the catchiness of the tunes and the fashion and lifestyles of the rappers, the hip-hop movement gained incredible steam in the 80's and 90's and ended up becoming extremely commercialized and embraced by the counterparts of the very people whom created it. I think one of the best examples of why it is hilarious when white people like gangster rap is the movie "office space" where the nerdy guy is stuck in traffic and he's singing along to some hard banger type hip hop that emphasizes the word ni.g.ga. When he gets near a black guy he turns down the music and sings very quietly until he is past him, then turns it back up. I feel that hip hop has fragmentented into many different sub types of music much like tehcno, electronica, house, drum&bass, etc. I personally like mellow hip hop like tribe called quest, aquavibe, living legends, etc. You will not find this particular white boy riding down the street bumping any song with "n.ig.g.a" being a prominent lyric, nor will you find me bumping songs that talk about growing up in the projects or getting shot at. I am NOT a thug and I know very few white boys that are either, although I have seen many, many, many fakes and losers that are whiteboys who seem to embrace black culture and think that they are black, even to the point of calling each other "n.i.g.g.a" and rolling around listening to the tupac song of the very same name. These very same kids are often quite nervous when confronted with a real thug type black person, and well they should be. How you could appreciate a song (although it has a catchy beat) about growing up in the hood, getting shot, selling dope, and being harrased by the police, all of this when you grew up strictly middle class, safe, and educated living in a house in the burbs? I think alot of kids that reach out to hip hop do it because it's "cool" and they are looking for a way to rebel against their conservative parents and get attention, which is the wrong reason to like any type of music. The hip hop I appreciate has a more positive message and usually has a really nice sequence of drums, bass, and percussion that sounds good in a nice stereo, rather than being some ignorant project kid yelling into a mike about drugs and guns while his homeboy pounds on a drum machine.

There is nothing wrong with white people liking rap. White boys be bangin screw louder than black guys down here. ( For those of you who don't live in the south screw is rap only slowed down. It started in houston.) It's just a culture...the hip hop community doesn't discriminate. If you're another race and you like rap...that's great. But if you don't like rap, even if your black, that's cool too. It just really depends on who you hang out with, where you were raised, and what you grew up around. I don't know why people get it in there mind that rap=black and white=country or whatever!! WJ: If you don't like people judging you based on where your from or how you talk or what you listen too; why do you think you have the right to judge people on there politcal beliefs, sexual orientaion, or how they act? Sounds kind of hypocritical to me!!
