To anyone who plays guitar, what're you're favorite songs to play? Do you prefer acoustic over electric? Etc.

My dad used to be a professional guitarist. He's been in bacnds doing gigs since he was 15. He played for Celine Dion, opened for a concert Hanson was at (and he said they are remarkable guitarists), and opened for Ringo Starr at a concert at the Mall of America. He's played mostly rock/metal but he has a weird intellectual side and really likes jazz a lot too. Then, at 40, he switched to being a math teacher. Weird, isn't it? He taught my sister how to play bass. She's good and she's only 15, I'm not even ****ing with you.

I prefer acoustic. I can play a bunch of songs like iron man and stuff. I like to make up my own tunes and songs

funny earth goddess. . .real funny. . I play guitar. . .I like acoustic but only because I haven't quite risen to a level of skill that allows me to manipulate an elctric guitar to its full potential. Electric guitar is so diverse in its sounds, I can't help but love it. My favorite song to play is (don't laugh). . .Maleguena. hear me out, it seems easy and it can be. . .but its so easy to customize and add things too that overtime you can make it more and more intricate. . .besides its one of the few songs I can play without worrying about screwing up on.

I listen to plenty of different music. A lot of my favorite bands are signed to Victory Records, like Hawthorne Heights, Silverstein, Spitalfield, Taking Back Sunday, etc. Victory Records and Drive-Thru Records have most of my favorite bands signed to them, so check their websites out and listen to the music.

I used to play in a band. We kind of split after a while cause it was during a busy time. Very soon I'm starting up another band though with some more of my friends, we should be really good. The drummer, bassist, and other guitarist (besides myself) are amazing. So we'll see how that happens.

hard to decide..i mean u have a light acoustic playin..its got a charm of its own, nothing quite like it huh?but then u hear an awesome electric lead..like say um echos by joe satriani,u can feel the notes in your blood.and after that u hear say the lead of comfortably numb and it just takes u to a different place, its haunting, alluring and just OUT OF THIS WORLD !yeah an electric is more versatile but then again..its a world away from an acoustic.kinda like comparing a harley to a superbike or somethin..go figure

Yeah you should. Pick it up and start practicing it again. I love guitar so much. I played for like 3 hours without putting it down for anything the other night.

My friend broke my electric guitar, so I only have my acoustic one at the moment. I haven't played it in a while. I should.

I used to play an electric in a noise / performance art / poetry / band / experiment. I'd use washers and quarters as picks and go crazy while a comrade recited essays and poems about the state of the nation (or whatever else interested her that day) and sprayed the "audience" with giant water guns. I don't know any chords or anything; I taught myself.
