Ok, I'm sure a lot of people have heard a bout Sammy Sosa using a cork Bat during a baseball game a few nights ago. Well the bat broke & the umpire discovered cork in the bat.Total No-NO Well, he claims it was his bat used for batting practice and home-run shows, and he grabbed it accidentally which he very well could've!BUt then I have to wonder, if that bat WAS just for batting practice, why was it in the dugout with the other game bats where it could easily be reached?? All his other bats were checked and showed up clean but now there are talks of checking his bats in the Hall of Fame!! SO what do you think oabout it?! Do you believe he just made an honest mistake? OK well here's the MSNBC article about the whole thing, if you haven't read it you should! =http://www.msnbc.com/news/921817.asp#BODY]I AM GESYKA I AM FANTASTIC!! oh, check this artcle out too! =http://www.msnbc.com/news/922122.asp]

Sosa should gives us a break. how many years has he been playing baseball with wood bats? How many bats does he own? how many bats has he hit with? If you honestley believe that he could not tell the difference between a corcked bat and a legal bat than you are the biggest idiot in the sports world I have ever come across.

well, i'm sorry. i don't know anything about baseball, except that they hit the ball, and run in a circle, and everyone sings a song. and you stretch during the seventh inning. my newspaper has dreadfully misinformed me. deepest regrets.

quote: it hasn't been proven, but it supposedly makes the ball go further, and, of course, making it easier to hit a home run. it may help, it may do nothing. they've had problems like this before. i'm sure there's a website that can explain it better than i can.
Wrong. Corking the bat actually shortens the distance the ball will travel. All corking a bat will do is help get the bat head around faster.

I know I'm going to sound like a sports related idiot, which is fine with me, because I am, but I don't quite understand why a cork would help him bat.
