I believe that people let themselves be influenced by what they see on TV, or the celebrities they idolize...

people are influenced by what they see is ideal. Shows like jackass is "cool" amongst the guys at my school. They'll come to school and say"oh yea, i want to do that" . I think that it's extremely dangerous that our soceity of teenagers are so affected by things like jackass and britney spears.Fortunately, though, most teenagers have more common sense than to do some of the things shown. And for those who do not, honestly, i do not have a solution. All i can say is that,parents, please senser shows like that from the minds of your growing children.

It seems to me that parents are getting lazy. They let their kids do whatever they want. I live in a small town, and kids here do things that shock me .. even though I should be used to it by now. I don't have TV in my house, but I'm definitely an exception .. most people I know have satellite so they've got about 300 channels. I can't believe some of the shows I see when I go to my friends' houses .. my friend and I even turned on the TV to see a show about strippers once

I just think that what's accepted on TV has gone way too far, but I'm also at a loss of what to do about it. How are we going to be able to get rid of this disgusting stuff when everybody likes to watch it so much? And as for Joey's question, how do you force parents to watch what their kids are doing? I know a lot of parents around here feel that when their kids get to be a certain age they can take care of themselves .. but that's completely wrong. Just the other day 4 kids from my school got arrested for robbing liquor from a store and getting drunk at school. I mean, for pete's sake ... what does everyone else think?
