Question:
Have any of you heard that new band or whatever. The girl's name is Lacuna Coil. They have that song "Heaven's a lie". Now as soon as i heard it and saw the video, I thought that this band is totally trying to copy Evanescence. For those of you have heard of them and seen the video, what do you hink?

Choices:
Definetly copying Evanescence
Not copying, just posers
I like it
This band could beat Evanescence any day!

Yeah, and it kinda captured some of the depression that some models/actors/singers go through in their carreer.

Evanescence was a band a long time ago, in their hometown, and have been since whe they were in highshool, and Lacuna Coil just started being even heard of when, two years ago? AND Lacuna Coil is from Italy, pretty far away for Evanescence to go and copy. Just because both singers are female and the band has a gothic/dark sound and appearance, does not mean they are copying one another. Just think of all the rappers out there who are so much alike.

I say both bands are good, although Lacuna Coil is somewhat better and put out their 1st CD before Evanescence, but Evanescence is also good- I agree with ICELAND, "Bring Me to Life" and "My Immortal" are the 2 weakest songs Evanescence has ever done. If anybody is copying, it is Evanescence, but they probably are not.

OK then you wouldnt mind explaining this to me then..

God creates light and separates light from darkness, and day from night, on the first day. Yet he didn't make the light producing objects (the sun and the stars) until the fourth day (1:14-19). And how could there be "the evening and the morning" on the first day if there was no sun to mark them? 1:3-5

Plants are made on the third day before there was a sun to drive their photosynthetic processes (1:14-19). 1:11

The first men had incredibly long lifespans. 5:5, 5:8, 5:11, 5:14, 5:17, 5:20, 5:23, 5:27, 5:31, 9:29

All animals have hands. 9:5

"Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth." Although this would have been good advice for the mythical Noah, it is deadly advice for humankind as a whole. Overpopulation is one of our greatest problems, yet there is nothing in the bible to address it. 9:1

The Israelite population went from 70 (or 75) to several million (Ex.12:37) in a few hundred years. Ex.1:5, 7

I think Laguna Coil is from Italy, they were around probably before Evanescence became popular.

I'm not fond of Hendrix or Pink Floyd but other than that, you have good taste in music. Have you heard of Angie Aparo? You might like him. He's a local-Atlanta artist, but he borders on the lines of Smashing Pumpkins and Irish-singer Damien Rice.

I like his "American" album best, but most people don't know about him. I think he's a wonderful artist. But eh. Listen to some of the tracks if you want.

What the hell is that? Keep your opinions to yourself when trying to prove why a band is bad. It's your damn opinion, it's not a fact.

This one pisses me off just thinking about it. If you slit my throat right now you'd get shot in the eye with boiling blood. Any time you say something sucks around someone who disagrees, they try to validate their taste in ****ty music/movies/clothing by reminding you that you still only speak for yourself, as if their opinions are in jeopardy of being monopolized by your own. Everyone already knows it's my opinion by virtue of the fact that I said it, no need to restate the obvious you dopey ****.

What the hell is that, ICELAND? Tell me you're joking.

Of course people are giving their opinions; whether a band is good or not is largely a matter of opinion. My opinion, whether you want it or not, is that Evanescense are just another mediocre band being given way too much exposure by all the lame radio and tv stations. Just like Linkin Park. Just like Good Charlotte. Just like all the ****ty emo and "punk" bands that polluted and exploited the genres.

And I have to say one more thing, simply because I cannot contain it anymore. I... do... not... like... the STROKES! I wasted $20 on that album, and frankly, I think I deserve a partial refund, because it's basically composed of the same songs played over and over again with different crappy lyrics.

That's probably going to get me flamed, but oh ****ing well.

And how can anyone like Everclear? I can't even distinguish between their songs; they sound exactly the same and they all make reference to the whiny singer not liking his dad.

Okay, I'm done for now. But I would just love to tell everyone what I think of many of the other bands/artists mentioned so far.

Hope you all don't think I'm being a *****. Here, I'll tell you a couple of my favorite bands and you can all bash them if you'd like. I'd love your honest opinions.

Smashing Pumpkins
Blind Melon
Pink Floyd
Jimi Hendrix
Janis Joplin

Eh, that's all I can think of at the moment. I'm very choosy about what I listen to. I'll consider any recommendations though.
