What do you think of Avril Lavigne? Is she a good role model for kids to follow?

and krc ok umm if you listen to the words in the song, youll find out thats shes basicly saying, that its to hard to say what she wants to. When it comes go most female singers, when you look at their back ground, friends, family, words of their songs, facial exprestions after singing live songs, any thing, you can tell where they are commming from im 16 and male and yet i can still tell where most are comming from. Im not sure how right i am on this, but here goes, i think that since its so hard for her to say to "him", she doesnt tell him, so she tells him in songs, her life story from when she started singing, is in most of her songs. just listen to the words, read the lyrics, read the facial exprestions. youll undestand especially if youre a girl.

ok umm itsnt it pretty much just posers that call others "poser" now days? i mean im no skater or anything but the last time i checked i dont dress or act or talk like a "poser" or "skater" and yet **** call me poser all the time, so i mean, truly.. at least she looks like a skater... and i mean so what if she is a "poser"= non skater yet acts/dresses like they are- shes a chick and hot as hell, she has a good voice, and has more money then anything you own costs. in her 1st cd she was all talking about how you should stick with your image and don't change for anyone. How you should stay true to yourself, but she didn't. she change drastically. blonde hair??? BLONDE HAIR? I think she really is a poser. She wants you to do as she says not as she does. Sucky role modle. I've lost all respect for her.

i like her music and the way she used to look when she hung w/Kelly Osborne but I have to agree w/johnny she's not punk rock.She's even died her hair blonde I HATE IT ON HER it looks so bad.She's not a good roll model b/c she says she'll be true to herself first she was "I'll kick your a**" now she's I hang out with Hilary Duff (j/p) but I bet its getting there.

Firstly, I agree with Celtic. She has okay songs and I think the lyrics rock pretty well, but when she doesn't record studio, and she's live, her music sucks! She has a terrible voice without machine help.
Secondly, I hate her clothes! They look so trashy-bottom-of-the-closet-the-only-thing-that-wasn't-dirty! She needs a serious fashion consultant. And the tu-tu in Happy Ending?! What was with that????

she sounds horrible, way out of tune, when she sings acoustic without and machinery to change her voice around.

Jenos, if Avril was a guy, you probably wouldn't have said that. Idk why you think she's a poser exactly, maybe it's the clothes or the attitude, but anyway that always bugs me, because those are both really stupid reasons to say someone sucks as a musical artist. But it's common, because liking her is considered lame, so I'll just congratulate you for blindly following popular opinion.

In actuality, her music is pretty good. She's versatile, she has a great voice, and interesting instrument parts in most of her songs that sets them apart from sounding like any other artist.

Maybe people should start listening to bands that actually mean what they play and sing because THEY WROTE IT! It's different when a band just has someone to tell them what to play, then its fake, im not going to mention names tho.

For the nth time, Avril Lavigne did not START any fashion trend. I saw Gwen Stefani wearing ties back in her tragic kingdom days. I hate that people think she's a great trendsetter just because she went and advertised pseudo-punk clothing.

Is Avril Lavigne a role model for the youth? heck, no. She didn't even finish school. Probably explains why she hardly has anything to say in her songs. She's not even a good person. I don't consider anyone who swears half the time and who mouths off on other more talented artists like Alanis Morrissette a good person. And she has an attitude problem.

If you want a role model, look up to Natalie Portman. That girl has beauty, brain, talent AND personality. Avril Lavigne is nothing close to being a role model. And yes, I guess the gist of my post is that she IS a moron. Period.
