From the commercials, it looked like it'd be too soft or something...not gritty or harsh enough.

Yeah, I thought that too. It waskind of mild as far as how you could portray the utter brutality of meadival warfare.

-----"""King Author"""

Hah. King Author...I can just imagine the filmmakers changing the story of Arthur and his legendary knights to be about a king who fights with the pen, instead of the sword. What a thrilling spin that would be.

Yeah, King Arthur overall sucked, the whole story about the knights being from a single far off land was stupid, and the freaking fireball catapults never actually HIT the enemy saxons, just landed near, what lame special effects. However, Kierra Knightly was cool as a leader of the Celts, and pretty believable as a fighter, too. The part on the ice was lame. They could have just crawled along next to the rocks if they were so worried about the thin ice.

Big Grin

Yeah, I'm sick of Orlando Bloom...notice all the ****ty films that are just being carried by big names? Alexander (or was it Troy?), the King Author one (which I felt insulted by)...

Hahaha. That scene transcribed by Maxno sounds hilarious.

I must be honest...from the first preview I saw, I thought it was going to be a terrible movie...I was sure Orlando Bloom was going to bring it into the gutter by making the filmmakers lazy and dependant on his star power to carry the film. Orlando Bloom, a Templar? From the commercials, it looked like it'd be too soft or something...not gritty or harsh enough. Correct me if I'm wrong.

The movie has no message! It's a bunch of disparate scenes, loosley strung together.

well, in history, Saladin was an eloquent, kind, sophisticated individual from the most advanced society in the West, while Europe was still trying to recover from the fall of Rome.

Reactionary,

There is a great deal of political messages that are in the movie. In my opinion it is greatly pro-Islam. It constantly stresses the idea that all religions are right, not just one. It also tries to tie in the crusades to the current situation in Israel at the end of the movie. But I was able to put these objections aside and enjoy the movie.

It does have one great political message - against aristocracies.

Mine was agonizing. Watching anything with my grandfather is medieval torture, making the film thus bad just killed me. Yes, this is my ghost typing.

Any of you who thought that movie was good are cinematic idiots.

The writing! It was god-awful! I booed the writer when his name came up in the credits.
