Does anyone have any famous relatives?
I have perhaps - according to one author - one of the most famous people in all of European/English history: William the Conqueror.
Him and armies from Normandy, France invaded England (think Anglo-Saxon, Norman Conquest) during the Eleventh Century, basically transformed England from then on out.
I have a little page so far about William, or King William II as he was also known as, on my website...
...I'm also related to a Democratic congressional candidate who ran in Dallas in the oh, 1960s, 1970s -- back when being a Democrat in Texas was a good thing. Got 40 percent of the vote, though; lost, but still.
Anywho, discuss...

"I'm related to the artist Georgia O'Keefe. She's my great-grandma's cousin, making me her... *counts* 4th cousin." That's so cool! I love Georgia O'Keefe's art...I did a huge project on it in 6th or 7th grade And I still can't believe you've heard of Pat the Bunny. No one here seems to know of it ::shrugs:: -rito

quote: It was created at first as a military-religious institution guarded to defend the Roman Catholic CHurch/pope, etc
Well not all of them, allot of them were crusaders, and when they failed they launched their own crusade to protect Christians on their to Jerusalem. It was ended by the same person/people. The Knights Templar were killed in the inquisition for being, less then fully faithful, at some point in time it became the tradition of new Templars to denounce Christianity and pledge to some pagan Gods. And in anyway the Muslims insisted that they were molesting their boys all throughout Palestine. The most significant thing they have done was establish a sort of medieval bank chain. Where you can deposit your money in 1 bank and withdraw from another.
