It seems like all you have to do is to be famous in order to be considered a "role model" by anybody, but what makes a real role model?
It gets on my nerves when I see big stars who didn't finish High School. I know they didn't need to, but lots of teens aren't gonna catch that and not take that stuff seriously.

I believe that a role model is someone that has once been down the same type of life that you have had. For instance Christina Aguilera is one of my role models becuz she lived a tough family life, and until like 8 years ago, I was living a life like hers. I think it's okay to have a rold model that has completed school, but that shouldn't make the person looking up to them want to do the same thing.

people say that a role model is some one you like or respect. i guess that is true to a point, but to me a role model is who you are most like who you look up to. some might say thats the same thing but it's not. a little kid about 6 or 7 don't know what respect is. like my brother who is 8 years old, he follow's me every were i don't care we have fun together i take him to the zoo, to the park and any were else he want's to go. and on that note my role model is my older brother!!!!!!

I think everyone can be a role model. To me a good role model is someone who just is who they are. Because that is what kids in America need to see...they need to see that people are different, that the right and wrong that some people go by isn't necessarily true for them. People who buck stereotypes and show kids how to be individuals with their own mind and their own belief systems are good role models.

my role model isn't famous. she's a mom with five kids including one that died an hour after he was born. she's my aunt. i really look up tp her. she helped me to understand God better. i think a role model is smeone who will do the right thing, even if no one agrees with it. my other role model isn't even real, Jamie Sullivan from A Walk to Remember. i want to be more like Jesus, but i don't always know what he would do, so i look to Jamie, what would Jamie do? i can handel life's little problems better now and i can see where i'm human and able to have emotions and to make mistakes. lastly, i really admire Mandy Moore for helping the Leukemia Society. she's not exactly my role model, but i really respect her for doing that. Leukemia has touched my life in more way that one. so, that's about it. Be the Moon, Reflect the Son, Hope

A role model doesn't have to be perfect. In fact, a good role model proves to people that they don't have to be famous to be liked. They should be original, and appropriate, yet not be incredibly stiff. They should be kind, joking, and not afraid to get down and dirty. a role model shouldn't try to be someone else- should just be themselves, and ignore other people. A good role model doesn't have to be popular. My role model is UNPOPULAR, but never tries to act like someone else.

To me a role model would be responsible and is always there for you. No matter what kind of situation it is, this person is always there. A role model is a person that you can count on. A role model is a person that you look up to and hope to be when you grow up. Famous people can be role models, it matters on the people who believe in them. Just because you're famous, doesn't mean you're automatically a role model. If a person younger than you looks up to you and admires you, then you know that you are a role model. And don't just stand there, do something about it. Show that little kid what's important in life and show him that it's important to succeed.

rolemodels can be positive or negative. to me a role model is someone you look up to. famous or not. i have a few rolemodels... all the boys of good charlotte and my 8th grade social studies teacher mr. strohbusch. good charlotte has helped me get through tough times..depression. my teacher helped me, to realise how important it is to be your self. he knew how to cheer anyone up and just to have him say hi to you can make you feel so much better. he doesnt know that i think that but i think he knows he has a positive influence on his students. so to me a rolemodels changes your life. makes you feel good about who you are and who you want to become.

To many kids believe that it's all about money and status. They are taught that character has nothing to do with whether or not they are a good choice to look up to. But it's all about character. Kids look to Eminem instead of their single mother who works long hours so the kids can eat. They think Brittany Spears has the answers rather than the dad who will put his dream car on hold so that he can take a vacation with his family. Their pastor who loves them, a teacher who goes above and beyond to help them succeed. These are the people are kids should look up to. Let those who know the character of these stars look up to them. I have enough heroes in my life. Trinity

A role model is someone who has been there for you everystep of the way, and been able to help you through everything. Someone you look up to, and can do everything they do or did and not get into trouble. Someone who knows the right from wrong and shows you the path to take, the road less travelled, so that way you work harder and learn along the way.

first off most heads are saying role models are all good people and do the right things and that's really not true. I mean what about the kids growing up in the projects looking up to the older heads who are drug dealers, theives, etc.?? to those kids, those dealers are they're role models. They gettin mad cars and money and not to mention they get it quickly so quite naturally they gonna look up to them.Anyway, what I'm trying to say is...a role model is anybody yo. From the drug dealers to the stars on tv.

I think as many people befor me have said, that a role model is different for everybody. Its someone that inspires you to do your best, and not comprimise yourself. I do think that so many people have role models that are "famous" because we are constantly bombarded with them and we see them everytime we open up a magazine, or turn on the tv, or the radio or...you get the idea.
My role model (my main one) would definatly have to be my Social Studies teacher from first semester this year. Shes smart, nice and funny, and she has always been there to listen to me when I had a really bad day (which unfortuneatly is pretty often) she is such a strong person (emotionally and physically) so that is why I really look up to her.

it dont matter if the person is famous or not. just as long as they hav a positive outlook on life. som peopl are sayin that celebrities are just in it for the money. thats so not true. they make music, act and wutnot because they love to. just look @ bad religion. they put out their whole album online so u could download every song and not pay for it. they really believe in their music and they are real to themselves. if u really believ in yourself and are true to ur beleifs then ur a good role .

a role model is someone who has-or had- a major affect on you or your life or your view of life. They inspire you to be what you dream of being, and often your dreams are similar to those of your role model because you'd probably not have as much respect for someone very different. I work with kids, and I know several would probably list me as a role model becuase they look up to me. I set the best example I can, and I hope it helps more than if they were to copy someone less appreciative in the eys of their parents.

a role model needs to keep an open mind and a positive outlook on life.

A role model to me, is anyone who inspires you to be better than you are as a person. Not that you necessarly want to be exaclty like that person, just someone you look at and go "man I want to go for my dreams"

A role model should be someone that you respect, regardless of if they're famous or not. Just like you shouldn't choose a role model because of how famous they are, you shouldn't say that say that someone can't be your role model because they're famous.
