hardly anyone can go a day without listening to the latest in music or watching tv...but how harmful is it to us? And could it maybe some day take a bad turn...making us "evil" in the outcome? Who knows...

I agree with seashellsandstars, it definitely influences the average person. Positively and negatively. For example, girls. Girls seeing more "skinnier", "prettier", girls in the media, it
reduces their self-esteem thinking that thats the perfect body and want to become that, leading to anorexia and bulimia. I cant really think of a positive way at this moment, but there is.

I think the media definitley influences the average person, even when we're not concious of it. It's nearly impossible to avoid it. As far as people becoming evil, I don't think it would go that far. The media can influence in positive ways too.

The media affects the ordinary person enough to almost generalize that it is the only influence besides family and culture.

I can't talk to my friends in the states about anything other than what they are exposed to on tv or on the internet. it's so frustrating.
