I was pretty apprehensive about this one, and was expecting it to be kinda crappy. However, I really liked it, and imo Lucas did a good job of tying things together while still keeping a good pace throughout the film. Most importantly, however, it had more emotional feeling than the previous films. I loved the details and visual effects, like the huge feathered lizard Obi-Wan rides, or the fire spraying up while Anakin and Obi-Wan fight. The darker aspect to the film made it sad, but overall, better. It was cool how you could see the emotion even in Yoda, when he was looking at the battle from his tree, sensing all the death. Man, Obi-Wan, what a pimp.

What did you think of it? Discuss.

Lots of people did that at my school. That's when it was funny because some kids in the lunch room stand up on chairs and hit each other with plastic light sabers until one falls down or they have three weeks of detention. Now just about everyone does stuff like that and it's just stupid now. Except when the Napkin Fairy does it. (The Napkin Fairy is this kid in my Italian class who runs around flappping his arms and throwing napkins at people)

Well obviously, Lucas couldn't go around calling them Care Bears, now could he? But you have to admit, even the Ewoks were better than Jar Jar Binks. Comic relief gone horribly wrong. At least he shut up for the third one.

Why don't you like Star Wars QOH?

Honestly before this new one came out and the fanatics start bombarding me with stuff that I couldn't care less about, I was fine with it. Didn't hate but didn't like it either.

As my friend said just this morning: Who the hell makes a movie about fuzzy bears and names them Ewoks?

I loathe Star Wars. Here's what my HIGH SCHOOL sounds like:
Hey everybody I saw Star Wars this weekend! Yeah Star Wars yeah! I wanna go by a light sbare! This one's blue! This one's red! This one's green! This one's Purple! SHING! SHING! SHING! Light saber light saber! Shing shing! I'm Han Solo! No wait, I'm Obi-Wan! Or Anakin!

I've had a headache for such a long time. Ewan Mcgregor's hot though.

I agree that the acting was poor and the dialogue was not great...but the movie really tied the series together. I thought the darth vader transformation was cool...then again the whole movie was done w/ CG animation

Clpo is right, all of them have been cheezy. They were even cheezy for the time.

Lucas's style of making movies is obsolete. If anyone else had made the first three Star Wars they, in the same manner, would have been a major flop.

People whine too much about "crappy dialogue" and "corny acting". Have you seen the original three? Just as corny. That's the style Lucas was going for. Star Wars was supposed to be like the old '50s serials that Lucas liked so much. Besides, you don't need good acting in a good versus evil story. It's not the acting that matters, it's the idea behind the story. Come on, stop whining about Hadyn Christensen and listen to Yoda. He has some good advice.

Bah, why does everyone expect movies to be like Shakespeare these days?

well i went to see star wars3 the day it opened. i think he could of done better on several things. 1 i think anakin is a horrible actor, but he did do the best in this one then the other two movies. i just think he could of gotten someone greater to do the part of anakin in star wars. I mean come on he is darth vader he should be be like totally masculine and cool and a great actor. I thought that hayden is wimpy looking and not that cool and his acting was ok. 2 there was to much action. this movie should of been less action and more of the personal stories. i wanted to see more scenes with padme. i really wanted to see how much he cared for her. i really did not get any chemistry from the two of them. 3 i kinda thought that the first action sequence was a little to crowded and long. Now for the good thing about the movie i thought the cast was awsome, excluding hayden. Ewan mcgregor, natalie portman, samuel l jackson, senetor palpatine, everyone was really good. but i still like the old ones way better. OH ya i thought it seemed like he rushed the new ones.4 i also thought the transformation of anakin to the dark side was way way to fast. it was like one second he is all for the light side then the next he is on his knees swearing allegiance to senator palpatine. i just thought it was to fast. 5 also they kept talking about how powerful and great ani was with his jedi skills. i didnt see it at all. i mean obi wan kicked his but and it seemed like yoda could of also. 6 LAST ONE I PROMISE. MACE WINDU'S DEATH WAS SO PYTHETIC. i mean come on at least let him go out with some dignity. i thought it would have been cool if he had taken ani and the senator on at the same time and then almost beat the senator and then be killed by ani. not him beating the senator and then all of the sudden ani cuts of his arm and pushes him out the window. I AM SORRY I JUST THOUGHT IT WAS A PYTHETIC DEATH FOR MACE. well that is it. arent you happy. i am not. i love hearing myself talk lol.

Being a mild Star Wars fanatic, (see profle)I was extremely giddy to see this last installment of the series, but I was rather bummed. The acting (with and exception of Palpetine) was godawful. I couldn't believe how cheesy and one dimensional the acting and dialogue was, especially between Padme and Annakin (sp?). Though granted, the special effects were impressive, they took away from the story. I thought Annakin's transformation to the darkside was too abrupt and the emotional struggle that should have been a central point, was absent. Also, has anyone else noticed this inconsistency: In the sixthe episode, Leia tells Luke that she remembers images of her mother, ("She was very beautiful. And...sad. She died when I was young." or something to that effect)yet in this third one, Padme dies before they're two minutes old. Just a small annoyance there. Hey though, the political allegory was just lovely, however the political cartoons comparing Bush to Darth peeve me when Senator Palpatine and Bush had so much more in common.( The whole increased ruling power thing, and Palpetine promoting personal agenda by using public fear to justify war in essentially homeland security, Padme saying, "So this is how democracy falls".)

Wow, what an intelligent comment. You persist in flinging around baseless statements, and not supporting them whatsoever. There was clearly a strong emotional dimension in this film, the various tragedies being good examples.

Basless statements? Baseless Statements?!!? Did you see that movie?! Did you see the acting?

Better than the first two prequels, but still doesn't beat the original trilogy.

There are more than enough movies where there is nothing in the movie except dialogue. The dialogue in this movie was nothing to complain about either. There is a different feel too it, but obviously they aren't going to be using modern slang and language patterns. I didn't catch any lines that were so bad they stuck out to me and distracted me from the film, share them if you have examples. The thought of someone sitting in the theater at this movie going "ugh, this dialogue disgusts me!" is pretty pathetic. It's like going to a rave and complaining about the loud music.

I don't know. I expected more of it :-( , not slang or anything, but just different. But yeah, it's like you say, Star Wars damn near revolves around effects, so I should have expected more of the effects. I liked the effects in this film more than in the one before this, though, Attack of the Clones.

You choose to complain about that, when there are political themes, symbolism, social commentary? Did Spiderman 2 get crap for not being "intellectual" enough? Was The Lord of The Rings any more "intellectual"???

Ok, so to my dissappointment I'm pretty much of the defensive here...but I think the complaints toward this film are pretty unjustified, and that bothers me when it's about movies.
