Why is it that everywhere a person looks, a skinny, oversized plastic barbie doll is staring back at them? Our society today's definition of beautiful is so limited. Noone really cares about what's inside your body, and noone minds that they're being extremely shallow. There is a very good magazine for girls and teens, New Moon ( Newmoon.org or forgirlsandtheirdreams.org) that hnelps girls and teens today realize that they really are beautiful, on the inside and out. Please check it out.

beauty shouldnt be on the outside. isnt it supposed to be the inside that matters? I knew people who were really pretty but no one really liked them because their personailty SUCKED! and ive known people that are the other way around.

i think u cant really tell someone she or he is the most goodlooking in the world cuz how do u really compare them...? its the persons choice whther she wants to be fat or thin... who are we to judge by saying we prefer one of em... the quote beauty is in the eye of the beholder is absolutely correct... as long as we're happy with the way we look it doesnt really matter! why give the other person the pleasure of his comments affecting you... people keep changingg their likes and dislikes... in the end wat matters is that u r satisfied wid who u are...
one wrong turn doesnt mean the end of ur journey remember ur car comes wid a reverse gear!

Personally, I like my girls with a little flesh on their bones. If I want to date a stick, I'll go out in the forest and find one.

I just love being compared to skinny models, and shallow musicians that think they are all that and a bag of chips.NOT!! This stereitype needs to stop, everyone is beautiful no matter how big or small they are, or what color hair they have, etc.

in reply to bauhaus, i think beauty is in the eye of the BEERHOLDER. lol my family is just crazy. but seriously there are more and more people like us(my term is higher minded people)who are starting to realize beauty is on the inside. all i need to do is get really really drunk. lol i'm sry. i agree though. there's a chick at my school who SEEMs to be perfect. megan. she just......hates me cause i'm not perfect and don't have flawless skin, i never was a cheerleader, and all this stuff they prejudice against me for. i think its cause i'm really relaxed and outspoken. anyway, i agree with christina aguilera. cause yeah i want to. just try and be ur self. it actually can be hard. in the end, people will recognize u for ur personality and like u for it. i believe in the end, we'll all hopefully turn out happy;whether dead or alive. bi tina

Yeah, I know what CHAOS is saying; everyone is at fault. look at this: One of the best friends i have ever had has this little birthmark right near her nose, so it's kinda hard to miss. It's not disfiguring, but you can see it. When I first met her through an older best friend, all I could od was stare and stare at it. I didn't know how to stop and I had to contain myself from asking something aweful like "What's this by your nose?" We've kind of gone our sperate ways now (she wanted to be "popular" or whatever) but she was extremely close to me for years, and after the first month or so, I couldn't even see it anymore. It wasn't that I'd gotten used to it, I was just seeing beyond it.

This is what www.dictionary.com defined as beauty. I think that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Many people can be beautiful in different ways for various reasons. You just have to look and try to see past they body and into the soul. A real beauty is not one that you see but one that you feel.
uhhh thats exactly what the first thing dictionary.com said...

Thanks for the replies everyone. What I was trying to say is that our society's definition of beauty is model kind of beauty. My personal definition of beauty can be both outer and inner beauty. when you first see someone, all you can see is the outer beauty. but when you get to know them, you start to tell if they're beautiful on the inside as well. some people just don't take the time to really see what the inner beauty is.

But what do you see as beauty? How do you classify someone as beautiful? What about physical features?

Everyone is beautiful in their own way and like the old saying goes, never judge a book by it's cover.

I try to see the beauty in everyone. How cliche is that?
