My friend is going to be taking a long road trip at the end of August with friends, and he needs some good road trip music for mix CDs. Road trip music is the music that everyone can sing along to. Fun music. "Pour Some Sugar On Me," for example. Or "Life is a Highway" by Tom Cochrane. (You know "..life is a hiighway..I wanna drive it all night looong..") Any suggestions?

To answer you, ICE, on LMP's first album the first cut is good, "Lights Out" obviously, and "Sinking In." On the second CD, "I'll Figure It Out," "Thanx," "Shine" (a duet with my personal idol, P!nk) and "Idiot." I'm not a "Dirty Laundry" fan, but it's okay as well. Great suggestions, guys. (Though I'm not a fan of the Beatles.) Also, EG, Little Bitty Pretty One is great, but I much prefer the slightly-higher Frankie Lymon & The Teenagers version. Got lots of Queen, and a few of Italian's suggestions (who I admittedly had never heard of.) Thanks, all!

I like a lot of 70's music, older R&B, and I like a lot of 80's music too. Most people only mean classic rock and the damn idiot Beatles when they say that, but not me.

quote: Staying Alive - Bee Gees
And I thought I was the only one who had any ties to that era. Actually I just watched Saturday Night Fevor last night. Go Iceland! The only one at the top of my mind is Baby You can Drive my Car by the Beatles. But I personally think anything besides their early Dear Prudence stage is wonderful roadie music.

If no-one suggested Bohemian Rhapsody before EG...we're stupid. Also, Another One Bites The Dust is great...Freddie Mercury has a great vocal part in that with the hey-ey-ey-ey-ey-EY-ey-ey-ey-! thing. Yeah I really like Lisa-Marie Presley. She was on Conan O'Brien once and was a great guest, she's really dark and calm and pretty funny/witty, she was cool. Also, I like the way she looks, it's interesting and it's cool how much she's like her father. Finally Lights Out is a great song imo...and the music vid is great. It has a country feel to it and yet it doesn't irritate me in any way...which is amazing for a country song. The way she yells at the end of ths song is just cool. You are the only one who bought her CD Euterpe. No one I know knows about or likes her in anyway. That annoys me...I hate it when I'm the only one that likes a good artist and it happens aaaaaaaaaalllllllllllllllllllllllll the time. Always. It's always happening. I hate all my friends for that. In fact **** them and everyone else with ****ty lame common plain boring tastes in music. She have any other good songs?

OhmiGod. How did I forget Michael Jackson? Geez. And I'm duly impressed you suggested Lisa Marie Presley. Even though the first album debuted at #5, I seem to be the only person on the planet that bought it. Saw her in concert, too. Puts on a great show, but she's really short.

These are all awesome suggestions, guys! I've used Highway To Hell, Shook Me All Night Long, Last Resort, Edge of Seventeen, Born To Be Wild, Tainted Love, Funkytown, and a whole lot of Aerosmith. I also added A Little Respect by Erasure, Fight for Your Right to Party by the Beastie Boys, Pretty Fly (For A White Guy) by The Offspring, and We're Not Gonna Take It by Twisted Sister. Any other suggestions? Any kind of music will work, including crazy one hit wonders and oldies, whatever.

"Just like the white winged dove...sings a song ..." I love that song! I think its my favorite Stevie Nicks song. I think my favorite old classic band though is the Allman Brothers. Theyre amazing...I got my middle name from their song "Melissa". =) It's wonderful...and I think I would marry James Taylor if he wasnt so old. haha.

but I would add anything by James Taylor and the Allman Brothers Band as for todays music, I'd say anything from Anberlin (if yall know who they are..), Eisley, Mae, Jack Johnson, or Armor for Sleep.
