LotR takes place in Middle-earth you moron. its up to you to decide if it is this world or not. there are a lot of christian parallels between middle earth's legents and this world's theology. also, the history is paralleled. it is his critic view of this world, is what i think. read the books goddammit and youd find out more about it.
