I didnt see this and I'd like to have some reviews before I check it out. It sounds boring. My teacher got real excited about it (he likes penguins) and I hear there's a terrible penguin tragedy. What do you have to say about it?

I like March of the Penguins more than I thought I would. It's funny, by the end of the movie I really started thinking of all the penguins in general not as penguins, but people. I think the saddest part of the movie is when there's just one lonely penguin who was late so he has to do the march all by himself. The narrator sort of implies that he'll probably die.
That's Bonanabizlry to you, mister.

Penguins and some of the penguin chicks die in the movie. How is that considered a tragedy? **** happens. It's all about survival.

I saw the documentary and it is quite good. I'm a devout animal lover and I learned tons of things about penguins. (But I think it would be good for those who are not animal-obsessed too.)It's a very interesting experience to see the emperor penguins up close for such a long time, and to see what their lives consist of. I never knew what a struggle it is to be an emperor penguin! Just keep in mind that there is absolutely no dialogue except for the narrarator (the Darth Vader voice dude). Other than that, there's only the howling of the wind and their occasional sad cry if their egg freezes to death when they don't keep them against their bodies at all times for months. Microsmos is also good too. That's more musical and has more artistic shots so it's more entertaining for the viewer. I really do recommend March of the Penguins though for those who are patient enough to watch and interested in learning a few things about penguins. (I'll never see them in the same way again. There are so many odd and unexplainable things about them but they're really cute as young. It's funny too because they're very humanlike in their sounds, like they kind of bark at eachother and they slide around on the ice comically.)

My friend saw it and he really liked it surprisingly. I saw the trailer for it with him at a different movie and he kept talking about penguin porn.

Microcosmos is another good one...I think half of it is in French though. It's about insects. I haven't seen the penguin thingy. Perhaps I will.

Terrible penguin tragedy. . . Heh. No, it was a good documentary. I would see it if I were you. But I'm obviously not you and I don't know whether you like documentaries or not. But I am a geek, so. . .
