What is your definition of terrorism? Could an abusive father be a terrorist? Could someone trying to do the right thing but hurting others in the process be a terrorist? What do you consider terrorism? I wanted to know because this word is so often overused. Please, for the time being, stay away from one-word answers like "Bush!" and "Kerry!" Tell us why!
Bushism of the day: "See, one of the interesting things in the Oval Office — I love to bring people into the Oval Office — right around the corner from here — and say, this is where I office, but I want you to know the office is always bigger than the person." —George W. Bush, Washington, D.C., Jan. 29, 2004
"If there was hope, it must lie in the proles, because only there, in those swarming disregarded masses, eighty-five percent of the population of Oceania, could the force to destroy the Party ever be generated," p.60, "1984," by George Orwell
... i should think any one or group that causes terror or fear in others through violence is a terrorist, so i suppose an abusive father is a terrorist, in its broader meaning.
politically and militarily, from where i come from, a country where guerilla freedom fighters have lived and rebelled for over twenty years, we see our own government as a group of terrorists. the same could be said of george w. bush.
" ... if you want to be free, be free because there's a million things to be." Cat Stevens.
Like almost all words, they can be interpreted differently depending on your view of reality. A terrorist is someone who threatens you personaly. Otherwise there is probably a way to classify everyone as a terrorist at one point or another.
I think terrorist are people who believe that human life is disposable in order to achieve something. That ranges from people who believe that civilian casualties are alright as long as the job gets done to mass murders such as Hitler and Stalin.
according to that out government is a terrorist organization. I belive it is to some extent, but one of the reasons politicians aren't able to establish a clear definition of terrorism is because they fear self incrimination.
terrorism is the use of violence or threats to frighten or eliminate a group of people. Muslim extremists are not all terrorists, but those who use violence against the US or Israel, or the rest of the world are.

Hit the ....Roots__!! Its a game of mythology..... 21st century with communication revolution round the globe will guide humanity towards positives..<<< and mythology,s followed by different races will be under scanner....indepth..!
Cause note, if you follow the most accepted definitions of terrorism, America's foreign policy as a whole responds quite well to the criterium. It's not how, it's who.
Terrorism.....a negative Force : eternal human conflict or Fight for Rights....! What ever may b the cause but this tool with negative force must be crushed and eradicated ruthlessly by all positive sane humans globally irrespective of cast or creed. Ignorance and poor collective will of positive forces is responsible in last many centuries for the multiplication and spreading of these negative forces all around, with one or other rider resulting in positives on slide & under pressure all around. Roots of terrorism are natural intakes......!
whatever terrorism is the worst part is that most ppl call thses blood thirsty *******s freedom fighters..nothing gets worse thatn that..to justify killing in the name of some god and for some holy land is so damn inexcusable..
Dont let ur studies interfere with ur education!!!!!
My definition of terrorism is an act of terrorizing other people or a country by means of violent ways that can affect the people physically, emotionally, financially and spiritually.
You don't have to have a mob of kilers to be a terrorist... anyone can be a teorrorist... a school bully.... a serial killer... the KKK... an abusive parent... anyone
"Regardless, I have always, and will always, succeed."
Anything that hurts many people over a long span of time through deliberate actions.
Such as drunk driving, or war.
I don't really consider 9/11 terrorism. I see it more as an attack from some zealots, not from an actual nation, considering zealots do not represent the whole (just like Bush does not represent the typical American).
But that's just me.
