Yeah and when that special day is made and everything's just peachy, the *special* day will come and everyone that lost someone will be reminded of that person's death. How nice.

I think there should be a holiday. Not for another day off of school or another excuse for a furniture sale. I don't think they would think about those things when making 9/11 a holiday. If they were to make a holiday or already have... it to honor the people who died and who lost families in 9/11. Also, to honor the firemen and police men who gave all their hours into cleaning up that mess. So I would be proud to have a holiday on 9/11.

We don't have a special day to remember the heros of 9-11 for the same reasons that we don't have a special day of Pearl Harbor.

I just don't know what they are...

we don't need a holiday to honnor the heros of September 11 I could do that right now. but it would be a good idea to pick a day and where ribbions or something like that.

That is our exact reason for our opinions all u care about is your sleep not remembering Sept 11 that was ourpoint. And no a day off is a good but when it is for remembering something I do not think we are suppost to be sleeping in and not remembering.

everyone is acting as though a day off of school is a bad thing. i think it's a wonderful idea, no ones gonna ever forget September 11, so the day off will be more important to different people, but still, a day off of school, good idea, more time to sleep or something.

Most People on here are so right it is scary...

I think we will be remembering the people who died or hurt or anything else along those lines. But I dont thin k some lazy kids who want to go hang out with their friends need another day off. I mean I can tell you know that I dont care whether or not it is memorail day i just want to get out of school....

I know in this horrible event. And my hurt goes out to every singles person this personally effects. I think that it is nice that stations give memorial to the our hereos. I think that people who were effected by it appericaite it not dislike it for the fact of it might hurt them seeing even if they didnt see the pictures of the stuff they would still be mourning. I know 2 people who lost a good friend and a sister in the attacks and I know they always say it is great that stations do it. And at first I didnt understand but I c that it means a lot to them they cry but they see that their family members are heros.

And I do feel all people in this were heroes...they might not have sat there ad fight but they lost their lives for our freedom maybe not on purpose but they did loose it for our country.

No, observed holidays are the ones that ARE observed, not the ones that aren't.

Im pretty sure they decided to call Sept11 "Patriot Day" or something gay like that. But I doubt it will be an observed holiday.

I agree completely. Everyone thinks that just because some people from the Middle East bombed our country, we have to be scared of and hate everyone that looks like an Arab.

Hi my name is Kayla. I think that people are so stupid in that they never think about others. They think that if they want something done they can complain and someone else will do it for them......they're wrong no one person can change the world but if no one tries then the world will never change. the point I'm getting to is if you want something to happen don't complain about it do something about it. You yourself can't change the world but if everyone tries a little then the world will change. Why do people sit around all day and complain about discrimination but they hold anti-war protests when we are fighting to say a world of people that have been discrinminated against foreve? They don't want discrimination, but they do everything in their power to prevent it from being stopped. Why are the people that are worried about world hunger so blind to see that they could help solve the problem by simply growing their own crops and sending the surplus food to the 3rd world counties. Well that is about all I had to say and I hope it helps people to understand that they CAN make a difference if they work together.

In case anyone hasn't heard, Sept. 11th is "Patriot Day". I don't know exactly what that means, but I think that it is just a day of patriotism and rememnbrance, i don't think that it is a no school, furniture sale, Hallmark card day; just patriot day. If anyone knows for sure what it is, let me and everyone else know, k?

I agree with bree. IF sept 11 is declared a national holiday i will die of shame. Sept 11 will be remembered by every one whether its a "holiday" or not. Why cause more pain to those who lost a loved one?

Why is it that we hate anyone? Racism is a valid failure in our perpetration to demonstate individualism and our taken advantage of the freedom in which we as Americans with hold. A muslim in our country feels as if they are walking down the streets naked and everyone's eyes are following their every movement. Don't hate the muslim for being a muslim hate a person for doing wrong and harming another. Not all muslims have done wrong they too just want to live in a world of freedom. What if it was you???

I tink it should be a holiday because i would like to remeber that and the people who lost someone would propbly like to that as a holiday because it would honor them and mabye we would miss school but it wouldn'y matter cause you have to have 180 days of school anyways
