I know everyone has their own opinions & im not attacking or directing my comments toward anyones opinion. But i believe in freedom & sometimes we do have to fight for it.What if we just surrendered to Afganistan? We would have to adjuzt to there beliefs!Girls couldnt show their faces you would have to be muslim(which is not a bad thing )well to put it better you would have to covert your religion.& for guys if your beard wasnt long enough they would just shoot you. There are many many more things i could talk about but i juzt want to say we dont need to be fighting w/ each other,we need to unify, our country needs to unify; blacks, whites, everybody, the fighting between ourselves needs to stop, only then will we acomplish something!I am scared of war,who isnt scared of war?I am worried for our countries sake. To tell you something about myself,i worry about my Dad every day!My Dad is a platoon sgt. & has already been called to war.& all i know is i WILL NOT see him again UNTIL I AM 17 YEARS OLD!!!!i dont know where he is or if he is okay.....So i know about war.i hope my Dad & his friends & fellow soliders are okay. We need to stop critisizing our country & the president & pull together & support our countries actions! As you should know prayer is the answer!Pray for our country & our troops!"GOD BLESS AMERICA"

All my life I have been extremely Naive. When the war in Kewait was going on I was a little girl and I asked my parents if that kind of thing would happen in Canada (or US) and they told me that it wouldn't because we live in a free world. The terrorist attacks in the US has made me realize that this can happen anywhere. After the attacks I questioned God and I have found a new sense of faith. I now realize that it was never God that would do this kind of stuff. The attacks were the work of the devil. The firefighters, police, rescue workers, everyone who helped, those were what god Sent to help. My Prayers go out to those who were lost on Sept.11/2001. May God Bless Our World.

I personally think that President Bush is a wonderful man and capable of maiking the right decisons. And for all of those you oppose war and want world peace and to love everyone: GET REAL.Do you think Bin Laden and his followers give a **** about peace? There are people who have no regard for human life which is why they maliciuosly destroyed so many American lives. Are you blind? They hate America, plan on annihalating us and have threatened our freedom. What do you think we should do? Go over there and lead them all into a big f****ing Group Hug? Give me a break. HOw soon you forget that Bush has been giving the Taliban fair chances for them to hand over Bin Laden to us. He could have hastily had Afghnaistan bombed out right away without given them that option. Well, they were given that choice. And if they do not cooperate with the US and have their useless country turned into the world's largest parking lot, then that is THEIR own fault. They do not deserve sympathy. And you also need to open your eyes and see that THEY...(the terrorists) attacked US.We have been made innocent victims, too...they initiated the tragedy and devestation that plagues our country. They are the reason we are here about to go to war because they intiated it.
and if you still do not think we should defend ourselves...that we should just be sitting duck because we have to fight for a global peace that will never come...then you might as well be justifying the terrorists for attacking us...because we would be letting them win. Is that what you want?

I was at school , I heard a thump , I went to lunch , heard there was a bombing from the teacher whaen I got back. confused Ok,sad "but what has it to do with me"? is what I thought. Little did I know that when I was to return home that day,my mother & father would tell me my two little cousins,Chase & Colton (might of heard of them)had been killed in the Oklahoma City bombing. eek They were only 3&4.
I was in second grade at the time, but things like this you don't forget. I'm now in 8th grade , 14 yrs. old and I cant help but cry for the families, friends, people.I know what murder to a friend or family member feels like. You want to go crazy thinking that if you could just somehow tell yourself that if you were crazy all this would simply be in your head but not truely exsist.Sadly that doesn't happen & the truth sinks in making you angry & more angry & even more angry till you yourself feels like harming someone else but, what good does it do? Does it fix anything? No. Does it make you feel better? No. Does it make the world less violent? No. Does it cause more pain , suffering , hatred , and agony? Yes.
To All:
"May your world be less painful in near future, and may there be less violence and hatred for all of America and all of the World."

I wanna say that During this time its like we are so surprised that someone could hate enough to do this to America. To kill innocent people on these planes. Yet some people in America are doing the same thing. THey are killing people who Look like "Arabs" and "Muslims" or just because they believe in the religion of ISlam they want to kill them and make them suffer. Some people are to small minded to realize, that a few people of the religion took it and twisted it and now you think that it is ALL people that believe in ISlam. We don't want anyone to hate..and we shouldn't hate. but all of us are victem to this crime..and are commiting it. I am sure here and there someone says a racist comment, and we think oh well..but its not oh well.. You have to respect everyone. and realize that so many people don't believe in what these people believed in. I mean thats like saying all americans are like Charles Manson, or Tommy McVeigh. But we aren't..and also..these supposed Arabs people are killing are just as much Americans as us. And some came to our country for a better life..and now we are making it worse.

And war is not the answer. yes for a while we will frighten them if we bomb them, but really is killing all these innocent people going to help. I dont' get it, we kill innocent people and its considered right..but yet them killing innocent people is wrong. I'm sorry but either way its wrong! So before you say something like I hate you to someone think..and then realize you don't hate them. Begin to accept others..realize that we are all a country and need to become United![B]Peace and Love *LW*[/B

It isn't wearing off. It'll come back fresh and new if you go to www.abcnews.go.com. First thing you might see are the words "A Nation United". Ponder that for a moment. Then click on "VIDEOS" below it. Then click on the little words "Sept. 11, 2001" under the words "COMPLETE VIDEO COVERAGE".
These videos are absolutely...they're devastating. I can't explain them. It makes me wonder how someone could do it...and we might never know.

God? Jesus, Allah, Budduh, Mohammed, I believe in God as do a lot of other people, I also believe that we all have a lot of different names for God and I'm not convinced God isn't the the same God, be us Christian, Muslim, Hindu, Jew, Sihk, controversal maybe but this is my belief. Now whatever our Gods name or identity I cannot accept that God would cause something like what happened on the 11th Sept to get us to go to Church and to be honest if I for one minute thought that was the case I would no longer believe in God full stop, however we view God, something is definate, God is about Love, not about murder, not about bullying us into buildings, God must sure be insecure if he needs us to actually go into buildings built by people. I believe that 'Church' is about people not buildings.
God whoever we know him/her as is used too often in my opinin to justify oppression of others, to point out others short falls or to justify the killing of others.
Yes the world is in a mess, their is enough food for every person to have a full belly, yet people are starving, there is enough water for the whole world to drink, yet people are thirsty, there is enough medicine and medical resources in the world, yet some people cannot afford to be treated and die, but please please please don't lets say that the USA deserved what happened on the 11th because God needed to make a point and wanted us all to climb into buildings (Churches).
Ok thats my morning rantings.

Hi all,
I'm new here, but I thought I'd join in the discussion anyway, I'm only 17, but feel like I should be doing something to help the vicitms families. I belive what the terrorists did was an act of pure devilism, but I also know that these people have been trained by one sick, twisted man, who has turned people into machines. My heart goes out to all those who lost loved ones, and I'll keep praying for them. In the meantime, my work is collecting money to send to the vicitms families, and we held a vigil on the 12th. We literally shut off all the lights, had a moment of silence, and then sang god bless america!!It was truely touching, and it brought tears to everyone's eyes. I hope they catch bin laden and all who was involved, and kill them. They don't deserve to live, after they took the lives of thousands of innocent people who did want to live. This is my thought on the subject.

I know how much of a devistating effect and ripple this has caused the world and so many people.Words do not discribe the terror, pain and sad loss that america is going through at the moment. However what most people do not understand is that we can not hate an entire nation for what a few people who regard themselves as human beings have done! America is not a country to back down from this cowardly act of terror and no doubt they won't. What most people want is revenge but they dont see the after effects it will cause for many of us and our mother earth. Last night i heard a report that humans have the potential to create a disease that will distroy us all, we will start out with a sore throat then get a runny nose followed by wieping eyes next will be a fast spreding rash then within two weeks we will be dead!Dosn't anyone relise we are acting as god!! Sure we do need revenge but not in a way like this many dont relise if we distroy this earth then where else do we have to go!!!Just a thought to you all.

My Prays are with you all and our earth!!
God Bless

I think that any normal person would feel uncomfortable or mad about this, and I think that if you don't then there is probaly something wrong with you, but to go to the level of hating every person that is of a dif. race, being terrified of everything, and just completely shutting down your life, I think that is just rediculous. No matter if you know it or not, your life has been planned out, someone knows everything that is going to happen to you, that person is God. He knows what happend yesterday, and what will happen in 2 seconds or 3 years! He will give you the comfort that you need. To the person who thought that every~1 of the people or every~1 of the kids hates those people that did this, I think that you are wrong. I know there were many Christians in those buildings, and Christian families that lost someone, and even though they might dislike those people. I think God gives them comfort. And we will be able to talk with, and lagh with those people someday, but only if you have accepted Christ, we will see them in Heaven. Even though we are going through these hard times, God is in control of it all.null

I was sitting in math class, and my teacher turned on the TV, and I saw the Twin Towers lying on the ground. Then minutes later I saw a plane fly directly into the Pentagon. I did not realize what had happened until they shut down my mother's factory, and my parents picked me up from school. After they told me I was scared. I was even more scared because I am very close to a nuclear bomb plant, and it was shut down that day as well. I asked myself why did this happen? I believe God is showing us, that if we don't get in church he will return and destroy the Earth. We better get in church and tuen to God! God Bless the USA! smile

I watched Bush's speech live on Thursday. I never had much respect for him until I saw it. It was moving. It forced the reality of these horrible things to sink in my brain, finally, and I made me think that we ARE going to get through this. It made me realize that peace isn't the answer. It made me realize that the entire world is grieving with America.
It made me get this sudden wave of patriotism I have never felt before.
Though the things that happened are terrible, it brought some good. Every cloud has a silver lining. Of course, this was more like a hurricane, not a cloud, and it was one darn small silver lining compared to the storm, but still...following the attacks Americans have been brought together. The world has been brought together. Except for al-Qaida and the rest of the terrorists. This is war here, and though I am frightened of war, I know it is right and I am proud of the uniformed men and women who are going to go out there and fight. If you want to see the text to Bush'a speech, go to CBS.com and click on CBSNews, then search for "Bush Speech Text". That's how I found it and I suggest everyone read it if they didn't see it.

I'd like to give across a message of wisdom, unity and compassion.

My message of wisdom is one you may not enjoy so I'll get it done and over with. The only way we can deal with what's going on and unite is to realize all the truth there is to realize. And there is a lot more than can be imagined. Bin Laden's actions will never be justified but he had a reason for his actions . . . . it was just a senseless reason. Everything has a good side and a bad side and the U.S.A.'s bad side is it's boastful pride. While it's good side helps the world, it's bad side goes out in an egomaniacal way claiming their better than a country that eats cats and dogs. It had strutted it's stuff during the Vietnamese War. This causes a boiling of hatred in other countries and Bin Laden's actions is an example of a country or group losing it's cool. We must make up for our pride. And what is the evidence revealing Bin Laden? It was never revealed. We just better hope Bush knows what he's doing amid his speech or else the U.S. will have to once again be guilty for an even more inhumane act almost like the silenced acts of Hitler.

Now for unity. Unity is definitely what this country needs in atime like this. Consistent unity as well. I even like the international unity that is growing now! Even some Middle Eastern countries are uniting with us! This is the kind of unity I've always wanted to see. It is not just international unity. It is a unity among all humanity separating the good from the bad so that we can face badness and abolish it with PATIENT JUSTICE. Patient justice to me, in it's raw, primordial essence, is asking badness, "Why," looking for potential peace and then walking away if peace is not potential.

My compassion goes out to the killed and to the survivors. The day the towers were tumbling, I spiritually paved an easy road to paradise for killed, gave them loving strength to take it and to have compassion and forgivingness on those who convert away from badness. It's been difficult to do anything for the survivors but I will take the time now to tell the survivors keep your hearts. Keep your hearts in everything and join the world-wide unity that is now taking place. And know that those killed related to you are being taken to paradise by our unity, patience and strength. Stay good. Love to you all.

And now here's a whimsical message . . . . keep your humor. I know it'd seem morbid but humor can increase our strength and patience. And if we understand that, it may help our unity. I saw a recent Daily Show episode where the host got serious to the point of tears. But in the end, he said, "I feel like Robin Williams from Bicentennial Man. 'I want to know what it's like to be loved'[takes a tear and licks it]." Humor alleviates pain so get stoned on it. Badda-bing!

Many are wanting action, like bombing, to be taken towards Afganistan. If you knew their history you would know that this is not a good option. They have been fighting for years, there are no more things left to destroy. If something should be destroyed it should be the Taliban. The world is approaching a long-term, indefinate battle against terrorism/human rights violations. If we can see that at least 80% of the worlds population consists of good, kind, loving individuals, than we can appreciate the life sustaining need to do away with idiot rulers!
Two groups I want to focus on are the Taliban and the Chineese Communist government. The Chineese gov has a history of unfair treatment towards their own civilans. But, the fact that they have killed over one million Tibetans and destroyed over 6,000 Buddhist monestaries is crucial proof of their inhumane ways. I say we pick up every single government offial in the Taliban and China. We create a huge pit somewhere. Strip the guys of all their belongings (that where made because of people like you and me) and through them all in this pit. If anyone is convicted of a major humans rights violation they get all their rights of living in OUR society taken away. These people will have to grow their own food and make their own shelters. We aren't killing them or hurting innocent by standers, but removing them from the scene so they can do no more harm! This would send a huge message to the others thinking about repeating these bad guys' mistakes. mad

I have a bit of a problem with buckeydent's comment that it doesn't matter that the country is patriotic now and not "365 days a year". I think that now is a time for the country to unite weather we have done it all year or not. Now I am patriotic year round but athers aren't. That doesn't excuse their lack of patriotism, but NO ONE should discourage the people of this great nation form banding together in this time of need. mad

It's great how americans are pulling together now. But the flags and so on should tell us something. How many times before have you driven down the road and saw so many flags ? NEVER. It's like hating church and only going once a year on easter to make a show when it matters. It's great most people are aware now , but we need to be aware 365 days a year.

I can understand what a lot of people here are saying. For example, people wanting revenge, whynot342 said something about imagine if your mother was in the WTC towers, and how people in the holocaust still hare Germans. Well, I would want revenge if my mother was killed, so I can understand that, but I don't think people should hate the whole nation of whoever is responsible.
I mean, imagine this: You're a person who goes about there life, having nothing to do with terrorists. One day you hear a group of terrorists from your country have killed civilians elsewhere. You had nothing to do with this, but the world hates you.
I understand that we need to do something to stop terrorism, *maybe* even war, but we shouldn't blame the entire nation for what terrorists, or even their gov. is doing. It's wrong to blame someone who had no choice being born in that country, who may even dislike their country, simply because they live there.
Nadia6 said about it not being okay that Palastinians(sp) were celebrating this, I agree. A lot of people are saying, America bombed the Japanese back in WWII, but first of all, pearl harbor happened first, second of all, I think it was very sad that people died then. I would not have been cheering.
At least it was only a small percentage of palstenians(sp), the majority where not celebrating.
