as butterfliwings i don't know anyone who got hurt in the "tragedy". But i do know friends who have family members that could have had a very good chance of getting hurt. although i dont know if they did i do know that my friend racheal's* dad workds in the pentagon and that rick's* whole family lives in new york. my class is always arguing who did it. some of them are part afgahnistan and they get really upset when someone says that it was the afgahnistans. then that person will argue and argue until the next nationality stands up and argues some more. people no matter what nationality you are it doesn't mean that your enemy is to blame. and whoever reads this and doesn't understand what i am saying then you haven't really seen a real argument. (no offense if you are offended in some way)

yeah everyone thinks that osama bin laden did this extremely horrible, gruesome, cruel thing, killing so many innocent people's lives. and this is different from pearl harbor...b/c soldiers were killed then who knew that there was a chance of dying...but this is innocent people being killed, just trying to go to work, just visiting new york. but we should not feel hatred toward people who are arabic, muslims, because they themselves didn't do anything. they didn't attack america, terrorists did, the taliban gov't did if they harbored the terrorists. muslims and arabs living in america have chosen to live in america because they want to be americans...and they're american too. don't hate innocent people here in america who had nothing to do with all this...don't hate inncoent people in afghanistan who had nothing to do with all this...if you must, feel hatred toward the terrorists and the taliban gov't. we have to pull together as a country and unite. letz try to help any way we can. itz odd that they attacked us b/c don't they know how strong the US is, and that we could easily blow them up? but i don't know if bombing them is the answer, b/c they'll just hurt us back and it'll keep going back and forth on with nothing being resolved...somehow all the hatred has to be swept away...we need to start with a clean slate...but that's the hardest thing of all. i'm so happy to see many countries so willing to help the US...peace and love everyone...my heart goes out to everyone, especially to those who have lost a loved one.

whynot342, afhans werent the ones that made the attack, they are harboring him, but no not really afghans its the talibans that are harboring him beuciase he is paying themn help9ing them with weapons etc. you know why he has to be harbored by other countries, beucase he was kicked out of his country by his billionaire father ( saudia arabiia) disinherited and everthing beucase of his "activities" so no just beucase 3 moslems did somehting like this doesnt mean that the over 300million moslems support this nut case. OSAMa bin laden is really for those wh0 studied psych. a nut case adn a power freak he likes beung in control, he isnt th eonly one but thank god the other nut cases in this world dont have this much money and power to pull somehing of like this, it has nothing to do with religion he says it does but no where in the koran is it found to kil somene or kill yourself those 2 are extremely BIG BAD SINS, in all religions.... my heart goes out too all the ppl that had to die in such a way, what has this world come to?? but does this mean we have to attack others the same way? others that are jyust as innocent?? afghanistan you all know ppl have no rights whatsoever there, the ones talking are talibans ( the guys that harbor nbin laden) and they are hated byy most of the country but unforutanlte tyhey are too powerful, personally i believe president bush is making a very bad decision, also even if we find osama bin laden have you guys though about all the ppl that support him , dont you think they will pull off somethin EVEN WORST ??????????????? for his capture??? you know that wil happen.........

While I personaily do not know anyone who died because of the attack, I have been very deeply affected by it. I just wanted to say thank-u to everyone who has responded here at YN because it has really helped me see that there are others who feel the same sense of saddness, fear and grief that I do.
In class when we talked about what the US should do to retailiate, so many kids were saying that we should just bomb the H*** out of the Muslims, Afganistan... anyone who they felt that were remotely responcible, and this really upset me. I felt like I was the only one who was worried about the lives of the inocent people who had nothing to do with this horrible event. I just wanted to thank everyone for helping me see that not everyone is as narrow minded as my class mates.

we shouldnt hate the palestinians and afghanistanians for what happened??? tell that to the children who lost both of their parents in a senseless act of war. tell that to the people whose entire lives were shattered in a matter of half an hour. tell that to the people who had friends and relatives aboard those flights, whome they will never see, talk to, laugh with again. tell it to the survivors who have to deal with this horror for the rest of their lives. tell that to the families of the brave policemen and firemen who list their lives trying to rescue innocent americans. tell that to the people who built the twin towers. and once you tell them all that, come back and tell ME how it is possible not to hate the *******s who did this to america.

i think that the Palastians were happy because the events that go on in the Middle East. Because the U.S supports Israle, the Palastians had to be happy that the country that was suporting Israel was being bombed and being terroriesed. That is way the were happy, so you can't be mad at them for being happy.

i've heard many times over the expression history repeats itself. well i guess i'm not really sure that that is an expression but i have heard it alot. and well i think that that is what is happening here, now, today.i remember being told that washington was burne in the 1800's. isnt' that what is hapening today? well maybe not all of washington is burning but the pentagon sure is. let's just pray that this is not the beginning of another war. and remember that the whole world is mourning. i have seen it.

Always- I would just like to thank you and the other Canadians who have offered to share their homes w/ complete strangers, and thank you for all the other help Canada has provided as well. I'm sure i can speak for all Americans when i say that we truly appreciate all your efforts during this terrible time. That goes for ANYone who is helping out, whether it be in blood/money donations or prayer. I'm trying my best to start fundraising money at my school. With almost 4000 people i hope to get a lot of money. Tomorrow, I plan on going to school fully decked out in red, white, and blue. Hopefully, that'll also spark some needed patriotism in my school. My grievances go out to everyone. I know that we're all suffering from the impact of Tuesday's events, but I also know that we can all work together to help out. Thank you guys for all your comments. God bless America. roll eyes

The Palestinians are raised to hate Americans. They are raised to believe that they should live in oppression. We musn't hate those that have never known any better. We can retatliate to hate with hate. Then the nation will never get better. I was raised to love all God's people. How could anyone do something so horrible and kill so many people. Anyone who does this just because of some radical religion deserves what is coming to them. The U.S. assumes that it is Asoma bin Ladden and if it is he will pay for all the lives he took. Whoever did this was trying to play God and not only with the Americans make them pay, but God is working extra hard to make them pay for it too. We are in good hands. All we can do now is donate blood, money, and other things. Anything to help will work and we must continue to pray for America. God Bless everyone!!

i live in canada and when i first heard the news i didnt believe it. roll eyes i thought it was just gossip. when i relized it was true i was really scared. when something like this happens you realize how easy it is to die. just die. that sounds really sick but i was so scared they were gonna bomb us and all kinds of rumors were going around, like they stole the nukes and were threatining to blow up everything. now i have calmed down a little and i just want to do something!! everyone knows about the planes that were sent to canada because they couldnt let them land over the states or something? well a lot have landed at the local airport where i live and there are thousands of people with nowhere to go right now except some high schools nearby. so the officails have set up a number where you can call in and offer to have some family/s come to stay at your house. i was planning on begging my mom to call up except when i got home she already had!! we are now waiting for someone to call to tell us if anyone is going to come. i am so happy we could do something and i am proud that over 5000 people here have offered their homes to strangers who are greatly in need of a family and a home until they can get back on their flights. i want to do something now because i cant stand waiting for them to call. my father is a firefighter and he said if he could get down there right now he would. i am proud of how these two countrys can pull together and help others in need even while us ourselves are greiving. this is a huge disaster in need of huge fixin so lets get together and start helpi

Robyn, your comment about the f-ing palestenians bothers me. I understand your anger but you must remember that they truely believe in what they are doing.
Everyone needs to make sure they know the facts. It is a horrible thing, but this is commonplace in other parts of the world.
Americans just don't know what it's like, we think we do but we don't. This makes us realize that Americans are not the beloved world wide heros that we often think we are.
I do not understand what it is that they believe that makes us so bad. And it makes me want to cry that I am so nieve, I try to understand, but no one I ask seems to know either.
Don't let this get the best of you. Don't become prejuduce. People say, children are dieing, women are dieing, americans are dieing, I think there is a more important issue: PEOPLE are dieing.

My heart goes out to the familys of those who will be gone protecting the country, who's families will be home late tonight due to flight and transportation diversions, and especially to the families of those who won't be comming home at all.

I love you ALL,
Phoebe

i'm worried about Bush being the one to decide the outcome of this trgic event. Is he capable of handling such a horrific event? How can palestinians rejoice for such a savage loss? Someone is attacking afghanistan right now. Because of the Talliban innocent people, females are being killed.

i know that this isn't exactly responding to your post, but i just wanted to say that while we may not be able to change what a mean-hearted terrorist does in the short-term, we can as young people help out by donating blood and by giving up some of our money to the victims...
