ok i get where you're coming from
but really
Im not saying abortion is right
but it should be A right
it should be an option
without the government completely forbidding it.
the cell is still a part of someone else's body
and that someone should have complete control over it.
whether it be "right" or "Wrong"

Ok
But this is AMERICA
who the hell are YOU
to tell someone what they can do with their own bodies
it's not for YOU to decide whats right
its the Mother

I think a woman's choice to abort shouldn't be illegal. In many responses, I have read reasons like rape, and I agree it is amongst the top reasons why abortion should be legal.

I think another main reason is that not everyone can afford to have a child. I think its better to abort than to have a baby adopted or put in a foster home where they might not even be able to be successful in life. I think that kid would have a hard time growing up because not every baby is lucky to be adopted.

Furthermore, what constitutes abortion as murder? There are many pros and cons, but I think what comes out of you should be your decision.

Abortion isn't the easiest choice for many women, especially if you're a teen or a victim of rape. It is much easier to say that abortion is wrong, than it is to be the one making the choice.

You can bag of teens for getting pregnant by saying that the baby is their consequence, but you must consider how that baby will grow up. You must also consider how the teen will take care of the baby, and you must also take in the fact that abortion is a punishment to the body. Abortion is not something simple, its actually quite damaging to the human body.

Thus, I vote pro-choice.

So like with everything there is and upside and downside to abortion
I am pro choice because what a girl does with her body is her business
and if in cases of rape then i think it's ok
also if the mother is extremely poor and can barley support herself
or is very young with no one to care for the child.
adoption is probably a better choice but pregnancy can be impossible to go through.
But if they just want to abort to have sex without consequence
then thats just horrible

It's murder, yes, but the child is also a part, and wholly dependent of, a woman's body, therefore hers. I don't care about america, or laws, or what the government thinks. I'm talking about morals. Morals, by the way, are very personal things to have, and cannot be determined by your country or government; they're yours to decide on.

Even though that may be true (as in, my opinion, it is) does it justify at all imposing your beliefs on an individual, forcing them to comply to your personal morals?

I can see an a fairly valid argument for the fact that it does, actually. If the fetus is in fact human, then an abortion would be murder. We, as a country, "impose" our belief that murder is wrong on people all the time, heck we still put people to death over it.

But i would like to raise the question of the pregnancy of 'the virgin' Mary, either she was an adulterer or the theory of her carrying gods child is true, in which case wasn't she unwillingly impregenated? if someone is unwillingly impregenated doesn't that mean they were raped? a bastard child is a sin and therefore must be jutifably aborted, if only mary had considered this we could have saved a lot of bloodshed over the argument of the life of jesus, the bastard from jerusalem.

if the "theory" of carriing God's child isnt correct you cant just say that she was an adulterer

she wasn't unwillingly impregnated,
when she had gotten news by the archangel Gabriel that she would bear a son by the holy spirit she had said let this be done to me.
And god are you ignorant, a child without a father shouldn't be killed.
Everyone has the right to live, just because he is without father gives you a reason to kill him?

"the bastard from jerusalem"...
Im a firm believer in God,Jesus and Mary
so please dont bring all this bullshit.

i am no expert

That much, my dear, is obvious. First of all, what do you define as "a few weeks"? Because at 6 weeks, the fetus looks like this, and technically isn't even a fetus yet (that stage begins at 9 weeks).

abortion is not right, unless the mother is at risk to lose her life. It is a proven fact that the fetus is alive at least after a few weeks. i am no expert, but that is murder. If a woman is murdered while she is pregnant, they consider that a double count of man slaughter. If it is illegal for someone else to to it, then why shouldn't it be illegal for the mother to do it herself?

Dramaqueen, a suggestion 'cause I see you're new here. If a thread has been dead for two years, do NOT revive it. Especially when it's a thread in on the wrong board and on a subject that already has like four active threads. Trust me, people don't appreciate it. :-)
