quote: This is a song from the Dixie Chicks. Yea there's no real point for me to post this but I think it tells a lot if you really think about it. If it doesn't then I'm sorry for posting it and please don't be mean to me for posting it.
Two days past eighteen, He was waitin' for the bus in his army greens. Sat down in a booth, in a cafe there, Gave his order to a girl with a bow in her hair. He's a little shy but she give him a smile, So he said: "Would you mind sittin' down for a while? "And talkin' to me. I'm feelin' a little low." She said: "I'm off in an hour and I know where we can go." So they went down and they sat on the pier, He said: "I bet you got a boyfriend but I don't care, "I got no one to send a letter to. "Would you mind if I sent one back here to you?" I cried: "Never gonna hold the hand of another guy." "Too young for him," they told her. Waitin' for the love of the travellin' soldier. "Our love will never end." Waitin' for the soldier to come back again Never more to be alone when the letter says, My soldier's comin' home.
The letters came from an army camp, In California, then Vietnam. He told her of his heart, it might be love, And all of the things he was so scared of. He said: "When it's gettin' kinda rough over here, "I think of that day, sittin' down at the pier. "And I close my eyes and see your pretty smile. "Don't worry, but I won't be able to write for a while."
I cried: "Never gonna hold the hand of another guy." "Too young for him," they told her. Waitin' for the love of the travellin' soldier. "Our love will never end." Waitin' for the soldier to come back again Never more to be alone when the letter says, My soldier's comin' home.
One Friday night at a football game, The Lord's Prayer said, and the anthem sang, A man said: "Folks would you bow your head, "For the list of local Vietnam dead." Cryin' all alone under the stands, Was the piccolo player in the marching band. And one name read and nobody really cared, But a pretty little girl with a bow in her hair.
I cried: "Never gonna hold the hand of another guy." "Too young for him," they told her. Waitin' for the love of the travellin' soldier. "Our love will never end." Waitin' for the soldier to come back again Never more to be alone when the letter says, My soldier's comin' home
Heh my girl and I both love this song even if it is kinda sad -US Marine
"The very existence of flamethrowers proves that sometime, somewhere, someone said to themselves, "You know, I want to set those people over there on fire, but I'm just not close enough to get the job done"."

This isn't world war 3. Only two countries are fighting. Technically American soldiers aren't even fighting anymore.

The "War in Iraq" isn't even a war, we haven't had a war since WW2. Both the Korean and Vietnam "war" were occupations, just like the Iraq "war."

I hope both the Iraqi and American soldiers are doing their best to hold on and keep hope. I hope the Iraqi soldiers see that the American soldiers aren't after them and I hope the same for the American soldiers. I don't know too much of this but I hope America could help Iraq and Iraq could help America and we could be a nation, union, be together as one. Maybe we will be one step closer to peace but for now I'm just hoping for those troops from anywhere around the world to come home. I just hope. This is a song from the Dixie Chicks. Yea there's no real point for me to post this but I think it tells a lot if you really think about it. If it doesn't then I'm sorry for posting it and please don't be mean to me for posting it.

Uhm.. I said "ask the Christians" because the Bible says some crap about a WWIII. Ask Joey. I didn't say "blame the Christians," so please, fully read and think about my posts before responding to three meager words...

I honestly hope it's not World War III. Of course, we just heard about North Korea's ballistic missle. It's kind of hard to be optomistic. But you know what? I think someday we're going to figure it out. Yes, September 11th was a cruel act of terrorism a gainst our country, and no, I don't attempt to justify it. It's just that that awful occurance has been over-used, I think to justify other acts of terrorism by our very own country. I think that the problem is that Americans are afraid, and Bush has use d that fear to pinpoint an enemy. The "Axis of Evil" must be destroyed for the betterment of humanity; this is such a black and white concept. It leaves no room for understanding of our fellow humans. We are told that they are our enemies, so we forget to wonder what might have led to such an intense hatred of our country, and what might be done to improve the situation without violence or warfare. But I truly believe that someday we will learn to find other ways of dealing with conflicts. I only wish I could trust our go vernment to even do so much as to consider these options. What does everyone else think??
