"Why do you think our media is everywhere? Do you honestly think we sit down here and say "Hmmmm, whos face can we shove our culture in today?" Ummmm no. Its a little thing called supply and demand. If you didnt watch the stations/buy the papers/read the magazines/whatever, it wouldnt be there. Obviously it is of some use to you, you want our media there."

Um, Tweet, I never said anything about us not liking American TV and stuff but I said that your media is EVERYWHERE and that's true. It's kind of hard to escape. I wasn't BLAMING anyone. No need to take such offense.

"I can name you 5000 times when the Americans raced to the help of other people in trouble. Can you name me even one time when someone else raced to the Americans in trouble?"

And what about Sept. 11th, hm? I sopose you think no one helps you in time of need and that you are underappreciated. And I sopose you feel so sorry for yourself "oh poor, poor, US of A"
Well, I for one think it is time for you to wake up and smell the coffee.
On Septamber 11th ALL of the planes in the air in America at the time flew up to Canada where our airports were jam packed with Americans. We oppened our homes to you! Local people accepted American into their homes to stay for a few nights because there wasn't enough space in the hotels!
And did you know that in George Bush's big speech after 9/11 he didn't even thank Canada?
He thanked tons of other countries but not us.

"Call me arrogant if you want, but I love my country with every fiber in my being and am proud to call myself an American. Stop being so jealous and go pay attention to your own country. Give us some competition for once. Its so easy to be the world's only superpower nowadays."

All I can say is that I am really sorry you feel that way. Frown I am not going to call you arrogant because that is not how I prove points.
What is there, really, to be jealous of?
I mean sure you have a big economy but ours is healthier and not always taking huge dips. (do not try to argue this point, you know nothing of the Canadian economy)
And sure you have a much bigger army but our country does not focus on military supplies but on more important things like health care and education. (Did you know that George Bush is spending more on Iraq than he spends on education?) Besides, we are a much friendlier country and are at least neutral with all countries. (Before you argue this: remember Cuba.)
Now, you may argue that the US does more for the world, but did you know that at one point 4% of our tax money went to countries in need. Canada does as much for the world as the US does but does not endlessly gloat about it.
And that "give us some compitition for once", why would we do that? We are perfectly content with having a culture of our own. Why would we want to compete with you when we have completely different morals? Confused
NOW, you may argue that the US must be a better country becase so many more people choose to come to it but that is only partly true.
Canada has more imigration than the US, and we take in more refugees than you do. We also create many job oppurtunities for imigrants.
Please do not take offense to this letter because, as I have said before, no country is better we just have different morals.

and for the record, not every Canadian is a hate monger with little basis or fact to back themselves up. Please read:

"This Canadian thinks it is time to speak up for the Americans as the most generous and possibly the least appreciated people on all the earth. Germany, Japan and, to a lesser extent, Britain and Italy were lifted out of the debris of war by the Americans who poured in billions of dollars and forgave other billions in debts. None of these countries is today paying even the interest on its remaining debts to the United States.

When France was in danger of collapsing in 1956, it was the Americans who propped it up, and their reward was to be insulted and swindled on the streets of Paris. I was there. I saw it.

When earthquakes hit distant cities, it is the United States that hurries in to help. Last Spring, 59 American communities were flattened by tornadoes. Nobody helped.

The Marshall Plan and the Truman Policy pumped billions of dollars into discouraged countries. Now newspapers in those countries are writing about the "decadent, warmongering Americans".

I'd like to see just one of those countries that is gloating over the erosion of the United States dollar build its own airplane. Does any other country in the world have a plane to equal the Boeing Jumbo Jet, the Lockheed Tri-Star, or the Douglas DC10? If so, why don't they fly them? Why do all the International lines except Russia fly American Planes?

Why does no other land on earth even consider putting a man or woman on the moon? You talk about Japanese technocracy, and you get radios. You talk about German technocracy, and you get automobiles. You talk about American technocracy, and you find men on the moon - not once, but several times - and safely home again. You talk about scandals, and the Americans put theirs right in the store window for everybody to look at. Even their draft-dodgers are not pursued and hounded. They are here on our streets, and most of them, unless they are breaking Canadian laws, are getting American dollars from ma and pa at home to spend here.

When the railways of France, Germany, and India were breaking down through age, it was the Americans who rebuilt them. When the Pennsylvania Railroad and the New York Central went broke, nobody loaned them an old caboose. Both are still broke.

I can name you 5000 times when the Americans raced to the help of other people in trouble. Can you name me even one time when someone else raced to the Americans in trouble? I don't think there was outside help even during the San Francisco earthquake.

Our neighbors have faced it alone, and I'm one Canadian who is tired of hearing them get kicked around. They will come out of this thing with their flag high. And when they do, they are entitled to thumb their nose at the lands that are gloating over their present troubles. I hope Canada is not one of those."

Stand proud, America!

Wear it proudly!!

at least one Canadian knows why we have such a huge National Debt...

Dude. Stop to think a second. Why do you think our media is everywhere? Do you honestly think we sit down here and say "Hmmmm, whos face can we shove our culture in today?" Ummmm no. To my fellow Americans: Big Democracy+Big Economy+Big Culture= Big Target. 'Tis the price we pay for being awesome.

I can't give you a valid point dissing Canada, because I honestly don't know enough about Canada to diss...because nobody cares about Canada. Why do you know so much about us? Right...your getting it now...and even if I could sit here and diss Canada, I wouldn't. I have class.

from an American Traitor who refuses injustice and high taxes world wide. When they come for you, we'll be there to give our lives and have **** talked about us. Later....

I have never seen a ****tily dressed girl standing on a street at night.

At least I admitted I am arrogant but give me a valid point dissing Canada and I will admit we are wrong, like I made a point about the States going deeply into debt.

There are entire boards about people thinking bush can do no wrong.

Canada was a British Colony in the 1770s too so were had no representation and were taxed the same as you were but we didn't become traitors.

I say I could beat you at curling but that is not arrogance that is self-confidence.

Another great thing about Canada is we take care of our homeless. We have the food bank and welfare. I have never seen a homeless person in my life.

I just ignored all of this...I have seen all of that in Canada so get over yourself. And yeah oh preacher of ignorance and intolerance...and escort is a hooker. WTF?

who? I hope you don't mean the USA, if you are going to F with the revolution, the bloodiest battle in the history of humankind, a battle of rights and freedom and a battle faught and won by men, women and children who believed "free" was the only way to live...then we are going to have some major freekin' problems.

It is not a call to arms, it is to remember the price we paid, our relatives paid...to be free. Something you don't know jack about.

And also we don't follow our politicials blindly. We don't even like our politicians.

neither does anyone else...we in fact don't even know who they are they are so unimportant to the global community.

Whats so funny? I think that Americans are all round good people. Even if they're patriosm is a little annoying, not all of them are ignorant.

I know plenty of arrogant Canadians, some of them being more arrogant then anyone I have ever met. Uggg me play rugby, me beat you!! Get a life and grow up...or just shut up. You suck, we suck...the world sucks. And all this crap I am reading...you don't think this is arrogance? Maybe not...just ignorance.

I know lots of people who wear colored socks.

We already had a discussion on who is from Canada.

At least our national antheme is not a call to war like some country's I know of. (cough, cough)

And also we don't follow our politicials blindly. We don't even like our politicians.

Next, Canada is paying off our national deficit, unlike our neighbour who is going deeper and deeper everyday until the point where there is no hope of ever even paying the interest let alone the balance.

Who does nobody like? I am sure that there are many people who have very few fans.

Every country has its share of arrogant people. I can be called arrogant and self-centred but I don't deny it or make excuses. I will recognise when I am wrong.

I am not sure what the deal with the prostitutes is. I have never seen a hooker on the street. In the papers they have "escorts" but I don't think that is the same thing.

Another great thing about Canada is we take care of our homeless. We have the food bank and welfare. I have never seen a homeless person in my life.

Okay I am done ranting for tonight. Have a good evening.

"..and they call americans cocky..."

Whats wrong with a little patriosm?
If I hear "God Bless America" one more time I think I will puke...

"hahhahahahahahahahahahahha...sorry, found that rather amusing."

Whats so funny? I think that Americans are all round good people. Even if they're patriosm is a little annoying, not all of them are ignorant.

Please Note: I just wasted a completely good oppurtunity to rant on about Americans but I chose to let it go because you cannot judge a country by a few individuals.

"Do a lot of people in Canada do that, or is she just unique?"

I wear coloured socks!
