I'm not mad at the Canadians at all because you don't want to join the war. I don't see anything wrong with that. I would rather live in a country that is staying nuetral myself, if we weren't the ones that were attacked. (I don't know if that made any sense?!?) I don't know what to say about anyone else, but I never had any harsh opinions of Canadians. Although I hear that the Canadians aren't too fond of us...

What are we guarding? Well mainly a several thousand mile unprotected border with the United states along with uranium, nickel, and many other resources needed to make weapons. It is pretty much to the State's advantage to keep allies in control of this area.
They call this war a cloud over the land but they made the weather then they stand in the rain and say s*** it's rainin.

But your government sure is betting on us doing so. The total Canadian military has a force of only 50,000 troops. I understand the grief over a friendly fire incident. However, we've had countrymen killed in the same way. I've never seen someone hold a grudge against a military mistake more than some Canadians about the incident in question.

Oh come on. It's Canada were talking about. We don't make fun of you guys cause you didn't join the war. I don't like the war either. I make fun of Canada beause you have Moose, and say "about" kinda funny, and last time i was there, a story about road reconstrustion took up almost 15 minutes of the local news, but i mean don't feel bad, I make fun of southerners somtimes too, or people from Utah, or the English. Anyway, I hear its very clean up in the north. The thing about your national anthem is stupid, they shouldn't have booed. But in all seriousness (slash not really cause this is a pitiful attempt at being humerous) what are you gaurding from, are the polar bears planning on making a military strike. I forgive you for not joining the war, and for making me feel like an idiot for not having health care like you.

Canada and France seem to be the only sane countries around here these days. Good for you KRC! I'm actually considering moving to Canada, where they have an actual functioning and legit government. WOW what a concept! I like my fries french!

I didn't know we were dissing the Canadians, no one I know has said anything about it. Mainly people around here couldn't expect you to help, all we see is lumberjacks with their axes chasing Osama....heh.
Lumberjacks? Okay for the record we did take up in the fight against Afganistan but not against Iraq b/c we couldn't see the justification. For the record lumberjacks pretty much only refers to BC so I am going to guess you are of the pacific North west? Anyhow saying farmers or fishermen would give you a bigger population share. Okay now for something other than edgy sarcasm. This is said with more of a shout. I know a guy who went to Afganistan. I know his mother who stayed up all night to wait for a phone call to know if he was OK after the American pilot killed four of our soldiers. You don't get to mock us we took up in a fight that wasn't any of our business for you. Can't recall States doing that for us... Help me out if I am wrong.

Sales tax is a state-run issue, as is property tax. Federal taxes inlcude income and social security taxes. I think there are some federal estate (similar to property) taxes, but it gets more complicated. Truthfully I didn't know about that pallidia (or however you spell it). Too bad I can't find out where that money is actually going, lol.

I probably won't need to, considering my family and I already pay close to that in federal income taxes anyway. So this tax is collected by the Puerto Rican government and then sent to the US?

no, no theres no site on english (trust me, i looked for it to post a link) anyways... so yeah, its the huge amount of papers you need o fill that ask for everything (you number of kids, your job, income, etc), and you have a month to pay them. its usually in april-march. and what you pay not only depends on your incomes, but on your prperty as well (if you own a yacht and a jet plane, for example, its gonna cost ya more), and if you have kids, its gonna be a little less. for people who are divorced but give money to the moms for the kids, the mother has to agree to let the father pay less money so he cankeep giving $$ to the kids. a lot of people call it "the curse", because its so sudden and so much money. its usually almost a fourth of your annual income, unless you live like Donal Trump (i dont, im just saying), in which case itll be 3/4 of your income. anywho, if you ever plan on moving to Puerto Rico, I'm warning you, save money for this.

youre missing something. we dont pay taxes, true, but we do pay this annual thing called "plannilla" that is a lot of money, depending on your income. a big part of that cash goes to the US

As far as I know, Puerto Ricans pay no federal taxes but receive all of the benifits. This is true of all residents of US territories. This includes social security.
