I wanted to know what your thoughts were on the Weather Underground and if something like that could happen today.

For those of you who may not know about them, allow me to explain:
In Summer 1969 Students for a Democratic society collapsed and a Weather Underground came out of it. They were a group of students and young people in their twenties who opposed racism in American and in the Vietnam war. In October they held a “days of rage” in Chicago.

December 1969: Fred Hampton’s death, Charles Manson, My Lai massacre, a lot of violence all around. W.U decides to take up arms. In January, 1970, they make a declaration of a state of war against the United States government.

Weather Underground started bombing in May 1970, in retaliation of Kent State and over the next five years they bombed 17 places, including the Pentagon and the State Department. No one was ever killed in these bombings nor were they intended to be killed. Only people ever killed were three WU members when building a bomb

So my question to you, is that with the opposition for the Iraqi war growing, do you think another student group like the Weather Underground could ever happen? Do you think the opposing youth could make this big of a stand? Or do you think the youth will just settle with their discontentment?

Who needs actions when you got words?
