Okay this has some very strong ideas, and feelings in it, but it is also all from experience and IS real so please give me your opinions, and even yell at me I don't care as long as I get some feedback. If you want to argue the Iraq issue here's my email address Chirdaki_187@hotmail.com, well enough of all that here's the poem.

Tribute to an American Hero

Nothing can repay them
For all the work they do
But it’s horrible when they work so hard
And don’t even get a thank you

I’m talking about the soldiers
The sailors, airmen and marines
Who fight and die for America
So we can remain free

When 9-11 came around
America screamed for blood
But now that blood has been shed
They say what we do is wrong

They call us baby-killers
As they did with the Vietnam Vets
Yet they don’t have the courage
To enlist into our ranks

They say we are doing horrid things
In Afghanistan and Iraq
Yet it was they who struck the first blow
Or have you forgotten the 9-11 attacks

The average age of our casualties
Are barely out of their teens
We have heroes who die protecting you
Who have never even lived

We serve so you can be ignorant
And so you can curse our cause
But most of all we serve you
So you have the freedom to do what you want

If you do not like it
Go live in Iraq
Where if you are a female
You’ll be beat for talking back

Do not protest us being over there
Unless you have gone
As for me I served my time in Hell
And it’s why I speak to you now
I have lost two brothers
Two very good friends
But I’m proud that they died for their country
Yet you curse their deaths

I have seen you burn my beloved flag
And watched you with your signs
I’ve cried when the colors rode at half-mast
And when Taps played out at night

I proudly serve my country
And I will gladly give my life
So you can protest me doing so
I’m buying your freedom with my life

again I hope you enjoyed it, or well if you didn't too bad.

Mr.Blue07, I see your stupid posts all the time and it really makes me angry. You actually thought that there were weapons in Iraq? Bull. Cia reports constantly stated there were none and that the Yellowcake story was a complete fabrication. Also, we would be able to tell if Saddam "destroyed" his weapons when the UN weapons inspectors came. You cant just get rid of dangerous chemicals and nuclear weapons, they linger and evidence can easily be found.

The war in Iraq is only important to America because the President says so.

Doesn't he have the freedom to say whatever he pleases? The soldiers in that poem fought for it and gave their lives for the right for him to say whatever the f*** he wishes, didn't they?

Why don't we talk about the man who was beheaded by Iraqi militants or the five men shot, their bodies burned and dragged through the streets then mutilated and strung over a bridge.

Abusing Iraqis...Murder...it's not revenge what the Iraqis are doing...it's murder

And Clinton got his **** ******to get his name in the history books too.

Bush went in for two reasons:
1. WMDs which they supposedly can not find(I believe they were destroyed by Saddam before the arrival of UN inspectors
2. To end the dictatorship of Saddam-Before we occupied Iraq, Saddam had executed millions of innocent Iraqis, it was another holucast in Iraq.
3. Ending the harboring of terrorists in Iraq

If you say Bush shouldn't have attempted to achieve these goals than Clinton shouldn't have occupied Somalia or Iran

how many damn times must I say that Iraq and Afghanistan were not responsible for 9/11??

Anyways, you should also write about the abusive soldiers in Iraq. Arent they "teaching morals"?

Bush just realized that he needed to do somethign to put his name in history, so he made Iraq:Screw Up.

And I wonder what the heck are you gonna do when you take the troops out of Iraq? At the second you do that, ther will be another terrorist attack.

And the Americans were in Vietnam and lost. Yes, lost. The Vietnamese have never been conquered.

American Liberty has everything to w/ the war in Iraq.

You and your friends fought for nothing.

There is no connection between fighting in Iraq and American Liberty, and the situation in Iraq being bad does not justify being there, it makes it worse.

I'm not a peot and I'll gladly laugh at my poor style right along with you, but if you want to continue sitting here and telling me that all my friends and I fought for nothing, well you can just kiss my ***!!! AS for seeing you when I'm fifty I hope I do see you, so I can knock your teeth out and laugh at your ignorance. You people don't know a damn thing about the situation in Iraq, have you been there? How old are you anyway, I'd say you are old enough to enlist yet you don't, why because you'd rather sit at your house on the internet bad mouthing the brave men and women who give you that right. In the course of our history over 1 1/2 million soldiers have died so you can have that luxury, and another 3 1/2 million were wounded, yet you would spit on their graves by saying they did nothing. Smurf I hope I never meet you, because I will not associate myself with a coward who takes their liberty for granted, good day!!!

Hahahahaha! 9/11 poetry has got to be just below old Jackie Chan movies when it comes to humor and just above LiveJournals when it comes to patheticness.

Hmmmm...actually reading this, your form is terrible. At first it seems like you are trying to adhere to a traditional rhyme scheme, but you fail to do so over and over again. I can only suppose you were desperately grasping for atleast one rhyme per 4 lines, screw where it actually is.

Hmmmm...actual content...mindless Patriotism (being a soldier = obviously fighting for good)...thoughtless acceptance of silly logic behind the War on Terror (9/11 = Iraq)...the typical right wing Old Testament rationalization (they striked first, we can do whatever we want)...cultural stereotyping...confusing Iraq with Afghanistan...happiness over the wasted lives of your relatives...

Wow, you are a sick person.

...NuShoes, this has got to be a new low for you. I mean, you were always a reactionary right-winger who had such a horribly twisted view of the world that you probably shouldn't leave the house, but now you were the first one to HEAVILY COMPLIMENT a very very sad attempt and poetry, political statement, and thought. You amuse me. I hope to meet you when you are about fifty years old and laugh at you.
