ahhh, i see. so pre-emptive attacks against others is ok - it's all for self-defense purposes, then?

then why didn't our government just say so? why did it have to talk about uranium that wasn't there? why is it that we don't attack china and north korea right now - they certainly have weapons of mass destruction. why is it that we're not invading saudi arabia for terrorist ties?

and we didn't go in to prevent a holocaust. racial and religious genocide has been practiced in iraq, rwanda, and nigeria long before we ever thought to invade iraq a 2nd time. this war wasn't about providing freedom for iraqis. it was solely about disposing of saddam for america's convenience/defense (depending on who you're talking to).

when you jump the gun like we did it's a political tragedy. how can it be that we are being accused by the world for overstepping our boundaries when we rid the world of an evil tyrant? because we did not have the proof that we needed to have the moral green light to wage war. think how ironic it is that america is being viewed by billions as the bad guy in an equation with saddam on the other side - that's all the proof you need to see that we mishandled the situation.

personally, i'm glad that saddam is gone; i hope that he's dead. but the ends don't justify the means. and if you think that they do, then we should have just nuked baghdad, because it would have been quicker and more efficient.

NobodysFool! Thank you so much. Seems like so many of those have been listening to Saddam's propaghanda. Stand for your own country as we all try to benefit others. We vowed a second holocaust would not be allowed, and yet, all that saddam did to his people is equavilant

i agree with americanrebel. would you rather have waited until more north americans died? more members of our government? should we have waited till they attacked other places in out country such as Los Angelas... would you be more for it if your favourite celebrity was killed to realize the need for this liberation... this war?

Bush and HIS war...

Apparently, his latest concern is the location those pesty Weapons of Mass Destruction.

Concerned for the welfare of this fine planet, we ask, "Where the hell are they Mr.President?"

I say, "Don't you worry, agitated citizens of the world, Bush WILL FIND those weapons"

(whether they existed prior to the war isn't relevant....right W?)

Not only are we fighting for our own but we are trying to improve the conditions for those over seas. Taking the lives of some to save so many more. Saddam was crazy, he would do anything. Im a proud supporter, and that will not be swayed. The ignorance of all of those who talk against this will see the benefits in the years to come.

Let it be known that Bush should not even be called our President! I believe in 2000 The PEOPLE voted for Al Gore, but of course, Bush had his bubba to help him out and steal the Presidency. War, war, war, and more war is all he has brought. As well as an increasing unemployment rate, determination of our public school system, and a downfalling economy. So do I support Bush? No! I am truley scared to think of what state our country will be in if we have to suffer from another 4 years of Bush as our President! Red Face

To hear so many of you down talking the man who has taken matters into his own hands and is doing the best he knows how is sickening. Tell me, did he do this wrong? Should we have sat back and waited until they pulled something on us? It would have happened. In the past the US as a country has sat back and let things roll by, waiting for something to happen and when it did then we would act. Finally we had gathered knowledge that something was to happen and acted before more lives were taken. Is saving our own so wrong?

I think Bush is a liar. He told the public about so much "evidence" of WMD in Iraq and linking Iraq to Al Qaeda. All of it was made-up. He brought us into a war that killed thousands of people. How can people still support him?

As the daughter of a 20-year veteran of the Green Berets, I have been told numerous times that you just shouldn't trust what the media is saying our military is doing. There are many things that nations all over the world send their soldiers into do that are kept top secret. Many of the liberties and allies we have are probably because of missions that you wouldn't even want to know about. And no, I don't see a problem with that. I would rather see our country's soldiers and citizens safe then to know what Delta and Black Ops is doing.

I guess you haven't heard. The title 'president' has been abolished in the United States in favor of 'dictator'.

I think many things are going on in the military that we do not all know about and therefore should not be judging their performance on.

And you don't see the problem there? There should not be things going on that we do not all know about. We have the right to know.

I think that President Bush did a wonderful job carrying the nation through September 11. I think he is doing a wonderful job fighting the war on terrorism and thus the war on Iraq. Also, I think many things are going on in the military that we do not all know about and therefore should not be judging their performance on.

wow, i could talk about this all day...
when I was abuot 8 or 9, a girl named "hannah" came 2 my elementary skool late in the year...we became gr8 friends, she sed she had just moved from texas when I asked about her "accent", and i believed her(hey, i was like 8!). but then one day she called me and sed she was comin over(this is when I had just turned 10). she told me that the day i had asked about her accent, she lied. she was really from iraq. me and my class had studied the country iraq for about a week(actually, in history, my teacher had just told us what was going on w/ us and iraq, this was in like 2000). she sed that she, her father, and her little 2 year old brother had escaped from iraq after her mother was killed by saddam (he cut her head off, and personally sent it in the mail 2 hannah and her family) her brother was also killed by saddam and his followers when him and many other people stood up 2 him, guess what happened to him, saddam first put him in jail, then, he brought him to an appliance factory, put him in a trash compactor, and told him 2 sit in it, he turned it on, they used hannah's brother 2 c how much a trash compactor could fit...
then hannah told me that she was forced to move back to iraq..but she couldnt tell me y, so she moved the next day, when the war started, she was able 2 send my friend a short letter of where she was, she was satying w/ her grandparentsabout 10 or 15 miles from baghdad.
what do you think of saddam now, i think the war is totally necessary, he is killing innocent people in iraq, and it needs to be stopped, and hey, isnt that what president George W. Bush is trying to do? Eek well wutdya know!?
so basically, im totally backing up bush on this.

thanks,
Erin

I think that on most levels, President Bush has done atleast a satisfactory job on pursuing issues that needed to be pursued, I also think that eventually, some kind of war may have come up between the US and Sadamm Housein. Sadamm is a subborn man who refuses to fall into submission of the UN or any authority. However When George Bush Senior was in office, Sadamm ordered a hit on him. I think that the current President Bush wants revenge on Sadamm, and although he deserves revenge, i think that risking millions of American and Iraqi lives seeking revenge on one is drastic, and unnecessary. I support Bush 100% and I also support the war. W/o this war, we are threatened by Sadam and his followers. I would rather our country attack Iraq (and give the pple a chance to live their lives the way they want to without fear) then see him attact our country. We have to fight for something called FREEDOM! Bush just didn't want to have fun killing people for no reason. He is PROTECTING this land we call America and he is making sure that we have our freedom. A part of freedom is to be able to say what ya wanna say. You can say w/e you want to about him and disagree and say w/e else ya wanna say. Bush was just making sure you have that right.
